I just wanted to share the experience I had today. I called with no appointment and I ended up speaking to Rebecca. Rebecca got me in quick and I had to ask her that question that we all hate to ask. Can I bring my kid in? Rebecca tells me yeah no problem let me talk to my boss and make sure. Not only did Rebecca do an amazing job on my hair they were so nice to my son. The owner of the shop was amazing. Let me tell you she got some merchandise that she sells and had my son pick through it to find the dogs, the cats and the mermaids. I am so glad that I found Rebecca and the cute little shop they have. I just want to tell you guys thank you so much and how wonderful my experience was there.

So I came here a couple months ago, I asked for a simple trim and a touch up on my layers. The lady's name that cut my hair was Karla, I was under the impression that my hair was going to be cut by Jen as I had asked for her. Right when we first started I let her know that I have naturally curly hair and I had straightened it the day before, I also informed her that I had not brushed my hair that day and I meant to because my hair type tangles within seconds. The moment she started coming my hair with a thin tooth comb from top to bottom I should not have let her cut my hair. Hair 101, brush or comb from bottom to top no matter the hair type. I could see my boyfriend behind me looking at that suspiciously. I still didn't say anything and let her do her thing. She's very lucky that I'm not tender headed, she was combing out a lot of my hair. After combing my hair she asked me what we were doing with it, telling me she had not even looked at my appointment file. I'm not going to go into detail with the cut... but this woman cut the shortest layer above my ears and my longest layers were to my mid back. I had worked for years to get my hair that long. I loved my long hair. She made it look like my hair got chopped with a butcher knife at a butcher shop. Everything was uneven and It looked like I had a longer mullet. I had this haircut for maybe 2 weeks, after that I realized that I would continue doing my own hair like I have been for the last couple years not letting anyone else touch it. I even fed up having to cut my hair shoulder length for my hair to look okay. I miss my long hair more than everything. I do not recommend going here for a simple hair cut.

Sticker Shock! They charge $100 up front to make an appointment. I showed up for my appointment at 2:30. The receptionist was nice, the waiting room was comfortable, and the woman who walked me back to the examination room was pleasant. The nurse examined the redness on my neck, but was unable to diagnose. After I told her the name of my skin condition, she confirmed by looking it up on her phone and told me that my condition would require 3 ipl laser sessions at $750 per session to treat an are approx. 4 inches by 4 inches, about a 10 minute session. So the total price for 3 10 minute sessions is $2,250. When I commented about the high price, she said the machine cost $150,000. I looked it up and they range anywhere from $20,000 to $100,000. I then asked if she could guarantee results, she stated that the treatment might not be effective at all. I had a real dermatologists use that same type of machine about 5 years ago to stimulate collagen production in my face and neck, and she only charged $350 for a 30 minute session. Regardless of price, I can not let someone this unknowledgeable treat my skin with these types of machines that can do serious and permanent damage in the wrong hands.

Overall, this is a cute salon that offers a diverse list of services. I really enjoyed coming in and all the ladies that work there are really sweet with great attitudes! I had my eyebrows waxed once and the gal did a good job. I initially came to this salon for eyelash extensions. Gild was recommended to me by a friend and thought I'd try them out for lash extensions! The girl who did mine was super sweet and she always did an amazing job. I went once for a full set and then two fills after 3 weeks. I have had lashes before and the lash tech who I saw before taught me how to diligently wash and care for my lashes. I cared for these lashes that I got from Gild the same way I did in the past. After a few weeks after the full set, there were lashes that really began to hurt. I noticed when they would fall out, they'd come out in clumps with one or two natural lashes attached. It looked like there was multiple hybrid extensions attached to one natural lash. I was sure to tell the lash tech this during my first fill. She didn't say much about the matter. After my first fill, I noticed that several lashes fell out after my first few times giving my lashes a bath. This happened many times after I'd wash them. I know this is to be expected, but it was an excessive amount that would fall out. Additionally, I felt like the lash fill service was rushed. It only took her a hour for a 3 week fill. In the past, 3 week fills take a lot longer than this (90-120 mins?) which makes me question the diligence of the application process. I have concerns over the quality of the lash extensions provided here and how diligent the lash techs are at applying them. Recently, after washing my lashes, I discovered I have pus coming from one of my natural lashes and this was 3 days after my most recent fill. I was wondering why my inner lashes hurt so much. My eyes felt agitated the day after, which isn't unusual for me because of the gel pad, but something felt like it was poking me and the lashes were falling into my eye. Then, I discover the pus. I am having them removed immediately by a lash tech who I trust (who sadly doesn't do lashes anymore) and won't be returning to this salon. I paid a lot of money for what I hoped would be excellent quality lashes done by a professional who I hoped would have been patient and done a careful, diligent job but I am disappointed. I never had any of these issues in the past when I had lashes previously nor am I allergic. I always do my part in cleansing my lashes to keep them clean, healthy and bacteria free. My hopes in writing this is to warn anyone else who might consider or be questioning the quality and safety of the lashes at Gild. I really wanted to like it here and was so impressed with my full set! She did a beautiful job but now I will be getting these lashes removed.

DJ the owner is not only a great teacher but really cares for his students and it shows!Dezmand is the barber instructor and is really just a fantastic teacher! He pushes you to be better and go beyond what you think you can do! He cares about our success and cares about the industry!! And it shows!Lori/Sailor/StaciaReally wonderful gals, and have a great ability to teach! Every time I have a question not only do I get an answer but I feel like a learned something!Wendy and Terry in the office!Most helpful and always on top of what we need as a student!If you are looking to attend this school! All I can say is put in the work… listen well, and it will change your life! The staff rock and I have learned a lot!This school is worth attending! Or just going to get a service done! Very professional and very friendly!

Where do I even begin! I have been going to Pia for all my waxing for almost 6 years now! I first started seeing her when she was in San Francisco, but now I drive all the way from the East Bay to Marin every time because she is that good - I refuse to see anyone else. She is so good at what she does, makes you feel so comfortable, is so knowledgeable, and makes it a truly painless experience. Her waxes are all organic and natural and do not irritate your skin whatsoever. I used to go to European Wax Center and get ingrowns and break outs after my waxes like crazy because I have super sensitive skin, but I have none of that with her wax and techniques. Her salon is super bohemian and adorable and extremely clean! She has become like a best friend and sister to me too because she is just such a beautiful soul and kind person. Pia is a waxing goddess and just goddess of all things, truly. I love her so much.

I've been to the spa several times over the years and I can say I was rather dissatisfied with this trip. I booked the cosmo package (massage, facial, pedi) for me and tribeca (massage, mani, pedi) for my mom. I did not care for my masseuse's (Amanda I think?) style but that's not so bad. My issue is I have lymph node it my neck that's enlarged (has been for years) and she kept pushing on it even after I told her it was not a knot but an enlarged lymph node. I suppose I could have really raised a stink and stopped the massage but IMO a professional should only have to be told by the client once that they don't like something. My mom and I were doing a side by side massage and I didn't want to disturb her experience.Facial was nice and relaxing (Brooke). She did my moms massage and mom enjoyed it.Pedicure (Fendi) was ok. I think I've decided I just don't enjoy the way they do them at UR, nothing against my tech.They were also not timely. We were supposed to be there for 3.5 hours. It was 4.25 before we were done. That might not seem like much but I'm diabetic and for me a 45 minute delay at lunch is a lot.And lastly almost NONE OF THEM were wearing masks. Of all the employees I saw in my 4 hours in the spa only 3 we're wearing masks and one of those is because I asked her to put it on. I called *in advance* to confirm they had a mask policy and was assured over the phone all employees would be wearing them. I definitely feel lied to regarding this.Over all, I likely won't be back. I'm not doing to spend $175 and leave feeling unhappy with my experience.

My family and I booked a number of services and were excited to spend a relaxing time at the spa. But unfortunately our experience was anything but that. It started off well but it was clear there was no management or organization. My manicure and pedicure ran longer than planned and the spa did not advise each other this. Even though I was already checked in, I was told the masseuse thought I was a no show and didnt come find me. I sat in their relaxation room for almost two hours before anyone asked if I wanted something to drink. My grandma actually went to pay when the front desk finally realized they had made a mistake. They attempted to tell me my massage did not happen because my manicure and pedicure ran long and asked if I would want to return another day. I politely declined but was not offered for any services to be comped. The facilities smelt of cigarette smoke. And while the employees were very nice, they were extremely vocal about the equipment problems and other facilities issues. Both my grandma and sister did not enjoy their massages. And advised their masseuse did not listen to their requests. It was very clear that no one was in charge and no one seemed to understand what was going on. Ive been to multiple spas and have never experienced such lack of organization before. Spa services are not inexpensive and one expects a certain level of service and relaxation when going to a spa.

I have never been to this business in person - only ordered online so this review is based on online service. I cannot speak to her in person services.On Monday, April 11th I placed an order from Absolut Skin Care and Spa. Their shipping policy states:I ship USPS on all of our orders. Standard shipping takes 2 to 3 business days from 12 noon PST on the date your order is entered into our system. Please note that order processing takes place from Monday through Friday. In-stock orders are shipped within 24 hours.Given this timeline the order should have shipped out latest Thursday, April, 14th.After not hearing anything all week, on Monday, April 18th (a week after the order was placed) I emailed 2x inquiring about my order and requesting a cancellation. After I requested the cancellation I received a blunt email from the owner:This order was already shipped out.To which she was referring that she shipped it out on (Tues, 04/19) after receiving my cancellation request.She was not helpful, did not follow her own polices, refused to cancel my order, and acted like she did not see my previous two emails even though she responded directly to them.I am not happy with the business service OR the customer service and would NOT recommend ordering online through them.I placed the order Monday 4/11 at 10:16pmBy Monday 4/18 I had received NO communication and NO confirmation of shipping.On 4/18 at 9:46pm I requested a cancellation.On 4/19 at 8:46pm the owner responded with: “This order was already shipped out”The shipment confirmation was sent to me on Tuesday 4/19 at 12:36pm - after I requested a cancellation.
