Comment: I went to get multiple wax services done today. I so appreciate them accommodating me with add on waxing services last minute.What I wasn’t fond of is the Brazilian waxing room, near the bathroom downstairs. (The wax itself was great.) I was told to get undressed from the waist down and get on the table and the waxer would be right back. Mind you, the door is facing the hallway where clients go to the bathroom or go to other rooms to get massages. I’m laying down and the door opens and people could see right in if they wanted to. I have my cooter out for other clients to possibly see. I don’t care if the waxer sees, she’s the one waxing me. After the wax was done, I then sat up at the edge of the waxing table to get my underwear and shorts back on. Then the door opens so the waxer can leave while I’m sitting there with my cooter and belly rolls out. Lol!! Again, a client could see right in if they wanted to.On top of that, I had a guy friend who I ran into in this same place during this session. I would be MORTIFIED if he happened to go use the bathroom as the waxer was walking out and he saw me exposed.I would have been perfectly fine if the waxer would stay in the room as I quickly undressed from the waist down without opening the door. And let me get dressed before she left.Like I said earlier. The wax was great. I got a Brazilian, underarm, lip, chin & eyebrows wax. I spent some money there today. The only thing is my modesty during the Brazilian.

Comment: I love Gild! I have been going since they first opened and love the consistently amazing work! Megan does my eyelash extensions and I absolutely adore her. She always makes my day and of course I leave feeling beautiful! Brittany did my Microblading and I am SO happy I finally got it done, best decision ever! My makeup routine is now down to less than 5 minutes and I always feel put together even without makeup. I have also had eyebrow waxing/tinting and massages and facials done at Gild and I leave every single time happy and glad I went in! I would highly recommend Gild for any of your spa needs! She can go from light pressure to super deep tissue which is what I need and love. She has helped me with many different pain issues and I don’t know what I would do without my weekly massages.

She listens to how I want them and even offers me options to customize a little bit as far as shape goes. The best part is, I don’t ever have to explain what my issue that week is, they can feel it and alleviate my various occupational knots seemingly instinctively. Comment: Overall, this is a cute salon that offers a diverse list of services. I really enjoyed coming in and all the ladies that work there are really sweet with great attitudes! I had my eyebrows waxed once and the gal did a good job. I initially came to this salon for eyelash extensions. Gild was recommended to me by a friend and thought I’d try them out for lash extensions! The girl who did mine was super sweet and she always did an amazing job. I went once for a full set and then two fills after 3 weeks. I have had lashes before and the lash tech who I saw before taught me how to diligently wash and care for my lashes. I cared for these lashes that I got from Gild the same way I did in the past. After a few weeks after the full set, there were lashes that really began to hurt. I noticed when they would fall out, they’d come out in clumps with one or two natural lashes attached. It looked like there was multiple hybrid extensions attached to one natural lash. I was sure to tell the lash tech this during my first fill. She didn’t say much about the matter. After my first fill, I noticed that several lashes fell out after my first few times giving my lashes a bath. This happened many times after I’d wash them. I know this is to be expected, but it was an excessive amount that would fall out. Additionally, I felt like the lash fill service was rushed. It only took her a hour for a 3 week fill. In the past, 3 week fills take a lot longer than this (90-120 mins?) which makes me question the diligence of the application process. I have concerns over the quality of the lash extensions provided here and how diligent the lash techs are at applying them. Recently, after washing my lashes, I discovered I have pus coming from one of my natural lashes and this was 3 days after my most recent fill. I was wondering why my inner lashes hurt so much. My eyes felt agitated the day after, which isn’t unusual for me because of the gel pad, but something felt like it was poking me and the lashes were falling into my eye. Then, I discover the pus. I am having them removed immediately by a lash tech who I trust (who sadly doesn’t do lashes anymore) and won’t be returning to this salon. I paid a lot of money for what I hoped would be excellent quality lashes done by a professional who I hoped would have been patient and done a careful, diligent job but I am disappointed. I never had any of these issues in the past when I had lashes previously nor am I allergic. I always do my part in cleansing my lashes to keep them clean, healthy and bacteria free. My hopes in writing this is to warn anyone else who might consider or be questioning the quality and safety of the lashes at Gild. I really wanted to like it here and was so impressed with my full set! She did a beautiful job but now I will be getting these lashes removed.

Comment: My review is well overdue, but 6 months after being microbladed by Julie, I am still beyond thrilled w/ the results and get compliments almost daily! Ive known and admired Julies artistry since her days at the Benefit counter at Macys more than 10 years ago. I have some serious brows and I love that Julie also appreciates a nice, full brow so scheduling with her when I decided I wanted to have my brows microbladed was a no brainer -- even though I no longer live in Redding and had to travel from the SF area. It was totally worth it! The measuring, brow mapping, color selection and blade selection (different thicknesses to match your hair width!) process takes the bulk of the appointment time, because Julie is meticulous about not only getting things right, but making them what you want them to be (so totally speak up!). She even went so far as to use 2 different colors on my brows -- darker in the spots where my natural growth is more sparse and lighter where I didnt need as much enhancement. Once we figured out the mapping, she used lidocane cream to numb my brows, which made the process totally tolerable; I honestly didnt even feel the majority of the strokes and the ones I did feel were only uncomfortable vs painful. The blading process only took about 30 minutes, despite the high number of strokes she put in, because Julie is a total pro. She also does that tricky thing doctors and nurses have perfected wherein she chats super nonchalantly w/ you to distract from the work shes doing that might freak you out if you think too much about it (aka me with every blood draw and shot of my life). Once she was done, we checked them out together in a couple of different lighting situations and decided to add a few more strokes here and there until I was satisfied w/ the end result (again, speak up!). Julie provided very clear after-care instructions, including details about the different stages of healing (most importantly -- be patient, its a process!) and the perfect amount of ointment to keep my skin protected in the first stages of healing. My touch up appointment went basically the same, but much quicker not having to go through the planning process and I have been nothing but thrilled with my results. Ive always been a big believer that great brows are the special something that people often cant put their finger on, but that really makes someone look put together and now I dont have to fill them in every day to achieve that look! Not only do I receive tons of compliments, but many of them from gym classmates who see me literally dripping sweat and red-faced and who say I still look so put together -- its the brows! I only wish I lived closer so I could refer more people to Julie and the Gild crew!
