I am absolutely in love with this salon. I have been looking to take my hair from a simple brown to bright and colorful for a while. After hearing a rave review from another friend I decided to check out Eco Chic salon.I met with Teri to discuss my goals and my fears about doing something I had deemed drastic to my hair. She was so helpful and walked me through the entire process, how many appointments it would take, the product we would be using and care instructions. After that initial consult I booked right away. I have never had someone walk through a consult in such depth before! On the day of my appointment Teri explained exactly what we would be doing and did so with great detail. What I really loved about EcoChic was that rather than sitting in a regular hair salon station I was seated at a centralized comfortable table in the center of the room. I had shared with Teri that I wanted to get work done during the appointment so she set me up in at the table!I was offered beverages and constantly checked on by the studio owner and Teri. I have been to salons where they just put color in and leave you sitting under a hair dryer. That is NOT what this salon is about. They truly care about comfort and experience on top of creating amazing color and styles. As we removed the foil I was so nervous that my dark brown hair wouldnt lift to blond right away and my heart was set at ease when I saw the excited reactions from everyone in the salon. Not only did my brown hair lift incredibly well, I left the salon with a beautiful blond color as part of my stage 1 in the process of what we are working on. I attribute that to Teris professional;ism and knowledge on color processing. Our next step will be to take the hair platinum and then add some vivid color to create the unicorn hair look that I have been dreaming about for a while. I am so excited to update this review with the final look! Before i left that day we went over care instructions and products to use and avoid. Blond is new for me so I really appreciated this step in the process! If you are looking for a cute salon that understands color processing, styling and how to make you feel welcome... then you should book an appointment at EcoChic salon!

I will never be back. I asked for a clean up and got an eyebrow shape change on only 1 eyebrow.! Like if you're going to change one might as well change both. I knew something was wrong when she stopped to brush them for quite a bit and then proceeded and she left wax on me and my fiancé everywhere it was such a rush job.I was so in shock I just paid and left. After taking a few days of processing I noticed I'm also missing hairs in front of my eyebrowI have very full eyebrows I've never had missing hairs in the frontEdit: I don't think it was miscommunication on my part. I very clearly stated that I only wanted a clean up. I'm not sure how that turned into changing the complete shape of one eyebrow. That's the point in the review And despite seeing my eyebrows my fiancé really just needed to get his done that day due to having an event the next day which is 100% his choice. I feel the lack of communication on your part is where there was a misunderstanding.. just simply from your point of view you can clearly see they are different, I would think you would say something. Instead of trying to convince me that they are naturally different before I even got off the bed. My review would've been different if you could've at least told me the roads we could've went down due to a mistake.
Salon Ardor
14391 Penasquitos Dr Ste D, San Diego, CA 92129, United States
I took a long 2-year hiatus from getting my hair done, and it was such a welcoming experience to come back and be a guest at Salon Ardor (which was not my usual salon pre-covid). Everyone was extremely friendly, on-time, efficient, and considerate. The ambience was comfortable and chic, and there was plenty of natural light. The chairs and washing stations were comfy even after hours of processing, and I was so appreciative of them for offering WiFi, water, drinks, and snacks throughout the service.. it really made the experience enjoyable and comfortable! I was trusting my locks to Ashley and she did not disappoint. Best part was probably the scalp massage! Also love how easy it is to book appts via text and appreciate them not being pushy with products, while still making great recs. I have family in the hair/salon business but I'm looking forward to making more routine visits to Salon Ardor.
Bs Hair & Nails Salon

Going in to this place to get my nails cut and heels pumiced was one of the worst decision I ever made. I asked the gal that runs the salon if they sanitize their equipment. Let me interject the gal that was working on me didnt understand the question. The manager acted as if it was a stupid question. To make a long story short I developed a Keratoma on the bottom of one foot which took nearly a year to straighten out going to the podiatrist. It was cut off 4 or 5 times and finally I used a Urea compound cream Revitaderm everynight and the Keratoma sluffed off. And not as horendous as putting down all my weight on a growth on the foot (every step I winced) that was affected I also got a fungus on my toenails. They looked yellowish orange. I told someone whom said she gets a foot treatment often and she said to go to Nordstroms or Macys . This happened to a famous tennis player:after a foot treatment at a n Asian salon someplace back east she couldnt play a match that was scheduled. Those little shops with umpteen workers reek of factory tales you hear about in third world countries. I should have reported them to the health department... It was around 4 years ago. Joanie in Ocean Beach Ca (San Diego). really dont deserve one star...

Every time I leave with a new haircut I cant stop cheesing! I get non stop compliments after get my hair cut.

SUPER HAPPY that I found this place!!!! (took me a while to post my review)So heres the thing - Ive been going to an eyebrow threading place inside the Mission Valley Mall right, but the last times Ive gone, I felt like the service was not the same anymore as the first time. More than once I had to repeat myself to the girls that would thread my eyebrows to trim more or clean them up. One time I even left that place crying because they left one eyebrow thinner than the other one. Not sure if its bcuz they got more busy, but I felt like I was getting my eyebrows threaded super fast and I was not feeling comfortable with the results anymore. Almost every time, when I would go back home I would have to pluck or trim more hair and I was not happy. So enough about them......I found Beauty By Dolly by just google-ing threading hillcrest and they were the first ones to come up. I checked out their site and facebook and this place looked like my future eyebrow threading home. So I decided to give them a try.....So.....as soon as I walked in the vibe felt just right. Im thinking - I like this place already. The receptionist greeted me with a smile and also the owner! I signed in, was handed their service menu and a new client coupon for $10 off for one of their other services. I probably waited for like 5 mins max before I got called by Rania. She was super nice and very attentive, she took her time threading my eyebrows. She gives me the mirror to take a look at myself and tells me - let me know if you want more thinner ok, but you already have beautiful perfect eyebrows. So once I looked at the mirror - I was like Oh my - they look PERFECT!! Rania did an AMAZING job. Ive had my eyebrows threaded before and compared to the other place I would go to (like I said earlier) - todays experience did not hurt at all, nor did I have to ask to trim more. Rania gave me her card with the days she is there, so I will definitely request her next time.I LOVE how my eyebrows look!!!! THANK YOU Beauty By Dolly for providing such awesome customer service!!! You are now my brow threading home!

Updated review:Editing to explain a few instances that have happened since my haircut.First off, want to say Serena and Diana are both amazing and would recommend them anytime! The customer service though is horrible.About a year ago, I scheduled an appointment for a blowout. I came in, someone started my blowout but needed to take over someone else's appointment so another person finished my blowout. This person had no clue what she was doing, my hair turned out horrible, they still charged me and gave me a free hair oil as a “sorry” and I went home crying about how awful it looked.Fast forward a year later, I thought I'd give them another chance. I scheduled a blowout again and a few days before, I was trying to cancel because I didn't want to leave upset again if something like that happened again. It was before the 48 hour cancellation policy. I called 4 times, left a voicemail, sent a text, and attempted to cancel online but conveniently enough, they don't have an option to cancel online. So today, the day before my scheduled blowout, they texted me saying they can cancel but would have to charge me. I explained that I called 4 times and they said “we're closed on Mondays as noted on our website” and are continuing with the cancellation fee.I've overall had a horrible experience here besides my haircut with Serena (who I'd highly recommend) and would just overall never recommend this salon to anyone.Previous review:Everyone was so kind. I had my haircut done by Serena and she was sooo sweet and did an amazing job! Im in love with my hair. Overall such a great experience and Ill definitely keep coming back. Thank you so much!

I went in the day before Valentines Day to get my hair done because I have a wedding to go to in March. I made an appointment with a girl named Brittany and told her that I would like to make my hair a pale blond. I informed her that I didnt want any silver or gray in my hair because it doesnt go well with my complexion. My hair was all natural except for a little bit of blond that I had at the tips of my bangs which was the blonde that I was going to match. 2 hours later I end with a warm honey blond. And bleach blond tips. I was horrified but she gave me a discount on my haircut so I felt the need to tip her more even though I was very unhappy. I had spent a good amount of money so I decided to call the customer service line to see if I could have somebody fix it. Luckily the supervisor of the customer service line was able to get me an appointment with the salon manager her name started with an a. So I went in and told her I didnt want want any gray or silver in my hair I just wanted to even out the ugly honey color and the bleached tips. She handed me a book of colors and told me to pick one that best matched but the book was full of brown and other colors there were no blondes in it. After re explaining that I would like a pale blond to match my tips she decided that she would just add highlights. While putting in my highlights she pulled my hair in the direction that she wanted my head to go she was very rough. At first I thought she was just trying to go fast which is rude but I also felt like I was rude for wanting my hair to be fixed so I didnt complain. She had to wash my hair a couple of times washing out the product that she had put in my hair and then washing out the shampoo or the conditioner and each time she used her nails to dig into my scalp. I understand that you get a head massage when you get your hair washed but she didnt use her fingertips at all it was like she was using her nails only. At the end of it I ended up with a purpley gray highlighted head mixed with the honey blonde color I desperately asked to get out and my head hurts from hurt scraping it. I am very upset that I was given highlights if she would have reprocessed my entire head and made it all one color I wouldnt have cared how damage it was as long as all of my hair was one color that was not a warm honey. Im hoping that the grey Fades out of my hair and just leaves a pretty white color and sadly Im going to have to find someone to get the rest of the warm color out I will not be going back to this salon again.
