Comment: Shop here at your own risk. I placed a pickup order for a moisturizer and received an opened one. At least a third of the product is missing. To top it all off, the store smelled like disgusting body odor and the AC was not working properly. Perfumes are all locked up so you can’t even smell them without having to track down an employee. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra mile to Sephora.

She has been amazing at keeping my hair healthy yet still cute and has methods to minimize hair damage if you do want to color your hair. Her artistic eye can match the hair color very closely to any photo you do show her.Her hair cutting/styling is an art. Comment: I dont know why I thought it was a good idea to shop here. It looks like they only sell makeup. I dont wear makeup, so it was not meant to be. But I can tell that if you do wear makeup, you will probably love this store. Unless, of course, they dont carry any of the makeup you normally wear. At that point, I would say you should shop elsewhere for your makeup needs. But you could still probably like this store just because it has a cool name. Sometimes, thats all it takes.

My last 2 visits though, I’ve gotten the same person ringing up my items. Her name is Mylesha and she has been so welcoming and so kind! She made sure I got my points and if I wanted to redeem the ones I already had. She made sure I got my gift with my fragrance purchase and she did it all with a big beautiful smile! To some it may not sound like a big deal, but now a days you don’t always get genuine conversations anymore in beauty store fronts. The energy she brought to my shopping experience was memorable enough for me to want to leave a review! Mylesha, keep doing what you’re doing! You go in for beauty steals and get bad feedback about your purchase from the employee and after that ordeal and LONG drive get told you have to leave two items behind because ONLY IN STORE is there a limit unlike online despite having abundance of the product available. My items sold out online because no limit. Ulta make all items available for bopis if they are in store, sale or not. This would have never happened with bopis curbside. Love that you have Curbside Pickup! Hate how much the employees change the turnover seems high here lately it shows in recent reviews.

Comment: I just wanted to share that I have been to this store a number of times, and no one has ever made me feel valued or let alone important. I once had a girl stand there quietly with her arms crossed while I remembered to look for coupons at the last minute. Be cause of this, I have tried my hardest to stay away from this store! However, this store is down the street, so it is indeed my store, and thankfully, they have this new wonderful gal I have never seen before. This is the second time in a row I have visited, and I am fortunate to be rang up by a lovely young lady named Mylesha. She was the only paying any real attention and invited me over to her register. She is EXACTLY what excellent customer service sounds like, what it looks like, and for what it truly is. Thank you, Mylesha! You are awesome!This store doesnt suck anymore now that they have you! Service is a hit or miss.This isnt the stores fault but the parking is horrible here! Such tiny spaces with a lot of foot traffic.

Nicholas was very kind throughout our time talking, and he took it slow and even gave me tips on application of the new products. Overall I was just really happy that he took the time and care that he did, as I was completely out of my element and definitely unsure as to what I was looking for when I walked in. Definitely thankful to have met him otherwise I probably would have walked out without items I needed because of sheer overwhelm.

So the blowout cost $45 and the style by flat iron or culy iron cost $32. 🤔 So I was charged for both services, because according to the hairstyles my daughters hair was damp, and she had to blow dry it. She never told me that it was going to cost more, and she charged me for two services. What abuse 😳 they take advantage of you. That has never happen at the Ulta at Otay Ranch or the San Ysidro Ulta that I go to. This Ulta has very bad reviews never going bad.

Comment: I mean is a beauty supply store and they all have a bad reputation for their employees to feel like they own the store. First of all, I went in for something in specific and a lot of the products were in incorrect spaces just very unorganized. I asked my husband to send me a picture of the concealer I was buying because I forgot the name of the shade and I was looking down on my phone and my purse just to see if I had the concealer on my purse by any chance. Well, the security person walked by my side more than a couple of times. I understand is their job but seriously they need to upgrade their system so they are not harassing customers. I got the stuff I needed, super happy that I found everything and head to pay. The girl that call me to her register sounded like she didnt even want to take me in but I mean she had to do her job. She definitely gave me a dirty look but still fake to be polite, very condescending and arrogant attitude, and I kept telling myself that perhaps she was having a bad day or it was her last hour for the day. For some reason my Ulta Credit Card did not go through and she asked me to do it twice, I did it again and nothing so I asked her if she knew why wasnt going through, because I knew my credit card limit and hadnt buy anything recently. She said she couldnt know why and I understand but then she just stood there quiet until I asked her if she could look up my card instead to see if that would change anything to which she answered the system was down. I ended up paying with a different credit card, whatever not a big deal but then I start heading out and she starts laughing super loud with her co worker. I felt this very disrespectful because I am giving my back to them as I walk out and she had already gave me a bad attitude. I wish I knew her name to report her because I mean, is not like your buying a bottle of water. People go here to spend hundreds of dollars sometimes and feeling like you are dropping your money in a place where you feel unwanted or like a burden is not nice at all. Perhaps they should hire more educated people with manners. I will stick to the Ulta by Otay Ranch where the staff is actually nicer.

My two sisters and I are went inside to go shopping and were treated as if we were stealing. This has happened once before but I ignored it and thought maybe I did something shady but now twice ? Unacceptable. The alarm on a perfume started ringing out of nowhere when we were in the makeup section and an employee came out to take the perfume away insinuating we were about to steal it. Then they kept following us in the store pretending to clean. Save your money and go to Sephora. I have never experienced anything of this sort at sephora. This is super poor customer service and I will never buy from Ulta again.

I walk in there with my daughter and a fresh clean face excited and ready to buy some new makeup and get a new everyday look and I kid you not, not one person asked me if I needed help. I was pittting on my own foundation and concealer wingin it and I was too shy to ask for help plus the workers that were there were all chatting together in a group and I didn’t want to interrupt them. Please do not go here i got my hair done by a black lady with thin brows i wanted to cry and stop her from doing my hair but i’m very shy and i was telling myself to trust the process. but her technique was horrible she didn’t wash my hair properly. she was cutting so weirdly and when she styled it it was so bad. she wasn’t even looking at the photos i was referencing to and i actually want to kill myself rn my hair is so messed up. so unprofessional the layers are so uneven and ugly she cut my hair shorter than i wanted and she didn’t know how to cut curtain bangs. So I was going to try a few scents and then I felt very uncomfortable. The workers and the guard kept watching me like it I was going to steal! So to not make me look like a red flag in the store I asked for help to test done scents. With that everyone left me alone until I got to the line and still watched me like it I was going to pocket the parfumes. Anyways I bought 2 travel size Gucci parfumes and left so sad and uncomfortable with the expirience.... Later in the day I went to Sephora to get a gift card for my sister because she loves Fenty and WOW Sephora customer service was literally so refreshing! They asked me if I needed help and to walk around to browse for anything else. So I bought the scents I loved for my cousin AND MORE GIFTS and returned the scents from Ulta. NEVER GOING BACK TO ULTA IN MISSION VALLEY.

The security guard came and stood in adjacent aisle facing me, as if I was a suspect. When I asked for the product I was looking for, they directed me to El Cajon store 30 minutes away! No one attempted to check the El Cajon store to see if they have it, or the El Cajon store could hold the product. El Cajon is inconvenient. I live near Mission Valley. I did not feel welcomed as a customer. I had a basket full of products worth at least $100.00, and I was willing to spend more, but the poor service deterred my gratitude. Ive visited the Ulta store in North County San Diego and got much better service. This experience today was disheartening.

I received a phone call around 2 pm asking me to come in at 4:45 instead. I reluctantly agreed. So, after getting my brows done I go back to check in at the salon at 4:50. I check in, the manager checking me in goes to find Natalie. The manager and Natalie both come to the counter a few minutes later, and ask me was I asked to come in at 4:45 or 5:30? I called my husband to confirm that we both heard 4:45 since the first call (4:20 to 4:45) was on speaker. I should have just left, but since it takes me about 30 minutes to get to the store, I decided to just wait. (If I knew then what I know now...)I finally get in the chair a little after 5:30, and Natalie is very nice and apologized and thanked me for waiting. I showed her two very similar photos of the cut I wanted, shoulder length slightly angled layered bob. One had bangs and one didn’t. During the consultation I felt confident that she understood what I wanted, and even reiterated that I was happy with the length I had I just wanted a trim and shape, the photos were just better illustrations of what I was wanting.When she started cutting, she started with the back and showed me how much she was cutting off, and it would end up being about the middle of my neck. I asked her to keep it a little longer than that since I’m trying to grow my hair out after giving myself a few quarantine cuts. For lack of a better term, i lost two inches of length on the front and the back is at the top of my neck and is stacked, looking like the dreaded Karen cut.My husband called yesterday asking for at least a partial refund since this is not what I wanted and looked nothing like the photos I showed, and was offered 50% off a future service with another stylist.Thank you, but I don’t think I’ll be going back for a haircut.(First two are the ones I showed, third is what I walked in with, last is what I walked out with 💀)

I hardly shop at this location, but since I was nearby I decided I wanted to pick up some of their new merchandise everyone is raving about. I received no customer assistance as I arrived with my husband and we were walking around looking for the items. I had to ask one of the cashiers because even the lady at the door was too busy. As I found the aisle I was looking for their was no products stocked. It surprised me since the floor wasn’t busy.I noticed the security following me because everywhere I moved he moved too. I knew maybe the manager had told him something because he only said hello to me and no one else that passed by him. I could not shop comfortably and felt pressured to leave the store. Ulta you need to hire friendlier employees without being prejudice because there was a worker just staring at me as I was looking for a product while I was trying to sort through the liquid sticks since they were all unorganized. I felt embarrassed because I am college student who works a minimum wage job. I would not steal because why would I go to a store with no money. Or at least that’s the way I was brought up. I felt as if were being racially profiled for being brown and Mexican. I will no longer be shopping at this location.

After being there awhile i started noticing the security following me and directly watching me when i would stop in the middle of aisles distracted, at one point i was even downloading their app to see what deals they had. I didn’t have any bags on me, my keys, phone, and wallet were all in my hands, yet this store had the audacity to profile me as a ‘stealer’ to have the security stalk me. I was disgusted, upset and disheartened at the on-floor customer service that i no longer wanted to purchase more than what i had even though i didn’t have everything i needed because, again, couldn’t even find the items, so i checked out with the two small items i had and had let Maxeen know my experience wasn’t good. She let her manager know, who caught me as i was walking out. The only reason I even give two stars is because of Maxeen & Audrey/Aubrey, all customers need when they walk in to a business is to be SEEN and these ladies finally did that at the end if my terrible trip by listening & talking to me. My only 2 issues with the conversation was (1) both Maxeen & Audrey/Aubrey had mentioned they heard on their radios that i was noted to be suspicious which was either from a store associate or the security themselves (2) i was told to come in earlier to receive better help because they were short staffed. I understand the securities job to protect the merchandise, but i shouldn’t have to come in earlier for something like this to be avoided when the staff & security should be communicating with each other if the person they’re noting to be suspicious had been helped.

She told me that they also help her with her KP and I got really excited because I also have KP! Then she showed me the FAB KP Bump Eraser body scrub, and I was so relieved to have finally found something that will help me! I wish I had asked her what her name is because I felt really connected to her in this struggle and she was so wonderful and helpful. She told me everything that I needed to do to treat my skin with the products and she also informed me of the common misconceptions that actually worsen our condition. I had a life changing experience last night! I will definitely be coming back as soon as I run out of my products!

The best part, as I buy mostly drugstore, you can swatch the items.I removed two stars because the lighting is so absolutely terrible in there that we had to use my phones flashlight, in the store. When colors and tones are absolutely everything in makeup, lighting is essential. Im sure its costing them more in returns than it would to upgrade the lighting to something more customer respectful and sufficient.The return policy is excellent. I am going off of the top if my head, I believe it is 90 days with the receipt.Staff are very warm and helpful.My review is for the Mission Valley location next to Old Navy and Trader Joes. Parking can be a challenge but the cars turn over quickly.

Comment: I went in the day before Valentines Day to get my hair done because I have a wedding to go to in March. I made an appointment with a girl named Brittany and told her that I would like to make my hair a pale blond. I informed her that I didnt want any silver or gray in my hair because it doesnt go well with my complexion. My hair was all natural except for a little bit of blond that I had at the tips of my bangs which was the blonde that I was going to match. 2 hours later I end with a warm honey blond. And bleach blond tips. I was horrified but she gave me a discount on my haircut so I felt the need to tip her more even though I was very unhappy. I had spent a good amount of money so I decided to call the customer service line to see if I could have somebody fix it. Luckily the supervisor of the customer service line was able to get me an appointment with the salon manager her name started with an a. So I went in and told her I didnt want want any gray or silver in my hair I just wanted to even out the ugly honey color and the bleached tips. She handed me a book of colors and told me to pick one that best matched but the book was full of brown and other colors there were no blondes in it. After re explaining that I would like a pale blond to match my tips she decided that she would just add highlights. While putting in my highlights she pulled my hair in the direction that she wanted my head to go she was very rough. At first I thought she was just trying to go fast which is rude but I also felt like I was rude for wanting my hair to be fixed so I didnt complain. She had to wash my hair a couple of times washing out the product that she had put in my hair and then washing out the shampoo or the conditioner and each time she used her nails to dig into my scalp. I understand that you get a head massage when you get your hair washed but she didnt use her fingertips at all it was like she was using her nails only. At the end of it I ended up with a purpley gray highlighted head mixed with the honey blonde color I desperately asked to get out and my head hurts from hurt scraping it. I am very upset that I was given highlights if she would have reprocessed my entire head and made it all one color I wouldnt have cared how damage it was as long as all of my hair was one color that was not a warm honey. Im hoping that the grey Fades out of my hair and just leaves a pretty white color and sadly Im going to have to find someone to get the rest of the warm color out I will not be going back to this salon again.

Comment: I am very upset because I had went into the salon to see Haley to get a balayage. The first time the balayage blend was goood but the color was completely not what I wanted. Then I went back and they offered to fix it for free, so this morning I went back (fixed by the same girl Haley) and I left and let my hair dry and the balayage is all kind of messed up. The front half of my hair is ALL blonde and the back is all brown. It’s not a balayage at all, my hair is broken up into section of just all blonde from top to bottom and ALL brown in different areas. So upset. :(

The customer service is terrible and most of the people who work there stand in a circle and chitchat while customers aimlessly walk around trying to find the right product for themselves. Michael I believe is one of the guys at The brow, and I love when he waxes my brows, great job. The other girls too but hes my fave. Also, most recently I went and never really had help from girls in the makeup area, no one seems to be available or they dont know about the products I inquire. Well the other day I went to stock up on Stila, on the 8th if dec. and Mathew helped me n a friend out, he was awesome! Found our exact shade, when he saw a way darker shade he corrected me, super amazing. PARKING is horrendous almost always! Go with time.
