Just moved from Philly a few days beforehand, did a Google search for a place to get my touch up relaxer. Had a stable and good stylist back where I came from. Called 10 locations and no appointments were available until the following week. Booked for a touch up relaxer @ $75 with a woman (didn't catch her name) and arrived on time, I thought the price was reasonable compared to the other quotes I received. When I arrived, was told “ring the bell and tell them you have an appointment with Eric” & so I did.Eric was clearly overbooked running back and forth with multiple clients doing his very best. I sat and waited for a full hour, with an appointment. Another lady comes up when I'm at the wash bowl and asks for my name. I told her and she says “I've been waiting for you you're in my book”. Apparently there's some internal drama going on, which is typical and find. What isn't typical and fine is that I as the customer was affected. Eric does a fine job, but then I'm taken to another room where a woman presses my hair out and literally burned my ears 3 times, and my neck twice. I was close to walking out, but was already 3 hours in at this place for a quick touch up relaxer. By the time it was time to pay, I'm told that'll be $125. I said “I'm sorry, but I was given a price of $75 when I booked my appointment and wrote it down. That is what I am prepared to pay.” Eric accepted it because that is what I was told, but man that made me so uncomfortable. If I knew the correct price, I would've probably made an appointment elsewhere and waited for the following week for a place a little closer to my new home. I won't be back here, to say the least.
Your Laser Skin Care

Did 6 laser treatments on my face/neck, good experience, worked, but their prices are too high by far.Basically, if you come here for laser, you are paying double for the location and an older laser machine. I am going to a different clinic now, same quality of nursing care, same or better results, costs > 50% less, and they have a newer laser with better cooling. The only downside is its a longer drive.Again, I had a good experience here! I just cant recommend it because for me personally, it wasnt competitive with what other clinics offer. I picked YLSC originally because I had no experience with laser and I assumed the good reviews and high prices meant it was somehow safer or better. Ive actually had a better experience at the other clinic, mainly due to a newer machine-- because of the better cooling, I dont have to take pain breaks during the treatment, so theyre able to get more consistent coverage. I wish I had tried more clinics before buying a package here, could have saved $500.Regardless, thanks to the nurses here! The treatments made a huge difference to my dysphoria and overall mental health, I really appreciate it.This review is for laser only, no comment on their other services.

Ive had a facial at Charlotte-James a while ago but never got to write a review. I dont do facials very often - for us geeks there is some sort of a faith-related taboo on facials and toenail clear polish - but when its good and effective, its easy to tell: the skin feels tight, exuberantly tingling, breathing, and your whole body gets a shot of energy. Good stuff!

Today was my first professional facial everand I absolutely loved it. Celia made me feel extremely comfortable because I was nervous(not sure why). Celia made me feel relaxed and as if I'm in good hands, and literally I was! I have booked my next appointment! I am confident that she will help me achieve my skin care goals!
Skin Tightening, Botox and Lip Fillers by Skins...

The owners of this med spa are two women who are the epitome of boss babes! They've built such a beautiful space with every cosmetic procedure you could possibly want- that too at a significantly lower price than all other med spas in the LA area. The quality of the products, treatments and equipment used are top shelf. I saw a huge difference after my initial Morpheus 8 laser resurfacing treatment in my deep acne scars that I had previously struggled with for years. This is the the only treatment that'll actually even out your skin texture, I'm kicking myself for wasting thousands of dollars on Sephora skincare products that claim to do the same but actually just make your skin worse because of a bad filler ingredient here and there. Now I'm about to get my fourth Morpheus session here at Skinsation and I probably don't even need it because I can go makeup free most days now, (something I wouldn't have been able to imagine doing just a few months ago before my first treatment) but I'm fully addicted now because it makes your face so toned and youthful plus smooth and even toned!! You cannot put a price on feeling confident; if you're on the fence and reading this just stop and go make your appointment :)

This is long-winded but hoping it can help others:I started having hormonal acne again after going on accutane two years ago. I decided to see Ben Benham to see what he could do as far as options. He gave me accutane as an option but didnt give me any other advice and said it was up to me. Okay fine. I kind of wanted more wholistic options but went with accutane since he said it would clear them up even though I had been on it before. I wait a month to take the first dose and scheduled my bloodwork. Apparently they never received it, so I had to wait an extra week to take the first pill. Keep in mind they already scheduled a PHONE appointment for me every month, one month from when I was SUPPOSED to take my first pill. Then finally get my prescription, take it for a month, have a phone check-in with Ben. He was talking so fast I couldnt get a question in. And I asked him if it was okay that my bloodwork was scheduled a week after our next phone appointment and he said it was. Well, when I had the next phone appointment with him, he said he would fill my prescription. Didnt tell me to take a pregnancy test or fill out my questions online or even mention my bloodwork. He had none of those in order to fill the prescription. I was confused. Then he told me to start taking two pills a day at 40mg each. So I did. Then I had the next phone appt with him and told him I needed my prescription filled as I had run out (because they neglected to tell me to schedule bloodwork in advance of appts among many other things.) Then they told me that I couldnt get the prescription without bloodwork results and I was furious because Ben TOLD ME it was fine. Obviously he has no idea what hes doing and I dont know how hes still in business.Fast forward to now, when I found a much better dermatologist who told me that 40mg was too much for my weight and she doesnt know why Ben would prescribe that to me (RED FLAG!!). The new place also took photos of my skin (which Ben didnt) and did the pregnancy test in-house (Ben made me buy them myself and do it at home). They also went above and beyond to communicate the accutane process with me which I appreciated. So basically, stay as far away as you can from Ben. He cant keep your info straight and seems like he has no idea how dermatology really works.

My entire experience at the Santa Monica and DTLA Laser Away locations have only felt like a waste of time, money, and trust. Its very ironic to me that a brand based around empowering women has made me feel so taken advantage of. No amount of girlboss vibes they infuse their marketing with can make up for the fact that they dont care about the people paying and putting their trust in them to perform medical procedures.I am concerned by the incredibly low standard that Laser Away clinicians are held to. There have been issues with all but one of my several treatments. The clinicians are not trained well enough to provide consistent and safe procedures. I feel incredibly violated that Laser Away, a MEDICAL OFFICE, has gotten away with repeatedly performing the wrong treatment on my face, and their customer service refuses to offer a sufficient resolution.Regardless of the time and money Ive personally wasted at Laser Away, I am most concerned by how untrained their clinical staff are. I would not recommend that anyone seek their services unless they are prepared to risk improperly administered and potentially unsafe medical procedures. My experience with Laser Away over the years is long and complicated, but here are the highlights of my experience:- I purchased a package of 9 Clear and Brilliant treatments in 2019. I was told at the time that this treatment targeted skin tone improvements. I received 7 treatments from 2019 and 2021. After my 7th treatment, I received a promotional email from Laser Away saying that Clear and Brilliant can be performed targeting tone and texture at the same time instead of individually . I was never told there were two options for Clear and Brilliant, so I called customer service to confirm that I was receiving the correct treatment that targeted tone improvements. It turned out that the clinicians had been using the texture option for all but one of my treatments. The only reason why one of the treatments was performed correctly was because the clinician asked me if I wanted to target tone or texture at the beginning of my appointment. I was not asked this in any of my prior appointments, nor was I informed that I would need to specify this at each treatment. My desire to target tone should have been noted in my files, or clinicians should be trained to ask every client about their goals before each treatment. Ultimately, 6 of the 9 treatments I received were not what I paid for and did not address my concerns with my skin due to the negligence of the staff.- In one of my first treatments the clinician skipped the area between my eyebrows. This was an area I specifically mentioned that I wanted to be treated in my initial consultation. The clinician skipped this area due to the placement of the eye shield, however there are other types of eye shields available that would allow them to treat this area. The clinicians should know which one to use to administer treatments properly. Ever since this experience, I have had to remind clinicians what parts of my face I specifically wanted to be treated and ask them to use the proper eye shield that will allow for the treatment to be applied correctly. It should not be the job of the customer to supervise the clinician during a medical procedure.- An attempted resolution for my 6 improperly administered Clear and Brilliant treatments was one IPL treatment to see how I liked it. During this procedure, I not only had to prompt the clinician to use the proper eye shield, but they also forgot to cover my eyebrows, resulting in a chunk of my eyebrow getting signed off. I was later informed by a customer service associate that clinicians are supposed to tape over your eyebrows before the procedure to prevent this from happening. Once again, it should not have been my job to supervise my clinician to perform all the necessary steps for administering a procedure safely. Time will tell if my eyebrow grows back properly or not.

I went couple years ago, did 4 treatments and pay almost $6000 .not to mention the treatments hurt so much, they would burn you face whit laser, of course they ask you to apply a numbing cream for the pain ( but still can feel the burning sensation on your face ).They promised me permanent great results, and honestly i can barely see the results on my face...they've told me in the “pre interview “to wait 1 month to notice great results, it has been a least 1 years after my treatments and my face still looks the same. After performing 4 treatments .. I just want to mention after you face peels off from the crusty layer that the laser leaves you in about 3 to 5 days after each treatment … yeah of course you face looks like a infant baby face pinkish color ..but after 3 month from treatments you face start to look back the same way to the original way you had it before doing the treatment .. they take pictures of the before and after … and they take different angles so they choose the ones they see are good for the business and post them on the original web page and show the difference to other patients, so people can feel confident and decide to do the treatments…butAnyway, take the risk .. experience yourself, but only you can be the judge.I'm just telling you my story… might be different in you case…good luck to all of you, and do your research and decide which treatment is best for you, if you're planning or looking to remove your acne scars ..Cheers to everyone.
Cienega Med Spa

I came to Cienega Med Spa before my wedding and met with Abigail and would *highly* not recommend the experience to others. My experience is detailed below:Making an appointment was easy and they quickly gave me a room. Abigail, however, was 15 minutes late with no communication. I thought they forgot about me as I was just sitting in the room alone aimlessly. Once she did arrive, I initially got a great vibe from her; she's knowledgeable, kind, and funny.I verbalized that I definitely wanted botox and to discuss and educate about fillers. She discussed topics thoroughly and answered all questions in a helpful manner. Upon completion of her assessment, she recommended 36 units of botox and to do fillers a different day. I explained that the most Botox I have ever done is 22 units and there is no way I'm about to do 36 units before my big day. I do not want to appear frozen for my wedding, I just want to look refreshed and have movement in the eyebrows. She kept pushing and pushing that I must get my chin done and must do my eyebrows, etc. It felt like she was refusing to take no for an answer. The next 10 minutes felt like a back and forth uncomfortable negotiation of her trying to sell me on more units. She was simply not taking no for an answer, it was so pushy. After finally giving up and agreeing to 26 units, she exited the room and a gentleman came in telling me I needed to pay prior to services rendered.I'm newer to LA so I'm not sure if this is a common practice in this city but I was completely astonished that they would ask such a thing. It made me feel like a criminal as though I would ever even consider walking out on them unpaid. I've gotten Botox many times in the past in various cities and this has never been my experience. You always pay after the service!Anyways, I paid and the service was about to be provided. I'm awful with needles and shared this piece of vital information with Abigail. Most nurses when told this, typically jump into high gear knowing that their patient can faint on them and it is a medical and safety concern. It is common to be given ice, water, or sugar (sweets), and to be watched for additional time post-injection. Instead, she scoffed when I asked her for water or an ice pack in preparation. When she was done she simply walked out of the room and wished me a good day telling me she was leaving the door open in case I needed something from the front desk staff. This was the icing on the cake for me. In the medical world, when someone tells you that they struggle with needles you must take them seriously! I have encountered nursing students that took this bit of information more seriously than Abigail did. If I faint, do you really think the front desk staff would hear me or even know what to medically do?As if all of this wasn't enough, guess what? My entire eyebrow and forehead region was dead frozen, losing my ability to show emotion for my wedding. Exactly what I pleaded with her multiple times to not happen.I must reiterate that I would highly not recommend Cienega Med Spa or Abigail.

Omg can not warn about this place enough. Everything an injector could to to set off alarms she did.First: had me wait for 45 minutes past my appointment when a family friend of hers came in to get a procedure. I heard this individual getting a huge family discount at the front before they finally called me in and the injector said sorry for the wait weve been having issues with our AC.Then comes the appointment. First she asked what race my friend was literally saying what are you while comparing our features, then told her she couldnt do anything to help her. She THEN used her coworker to highlight examples of sunken eyes and cheekbones (so mean and shocking we didnt know how to react in real time). She ended up telling my friend nothing could help her jaw pain unless she went through insurance and a different person and dropped several thousand more dollars than she could probably afford. Yes, jaw injections can involve a lot of ccs, yes it can be expensive, but other competent injectors I know wouldve given her tangible steps rather than a general thats not gonna happen for you, or tried other moderate solutions as a first step. Then to me. I booked an appointment for BOTOX which the receptionist told me the cost of on the phone per unit vs dysport. I started getting botox injections when I was 24 for migraines then started doing more for aesthetics. I have been receiving it every 3-4 months for 3 and a half years before moving back here. This injector insisted on dysport, told me it lasts longer and is stronger than botox( just generally not considered the case) and refused to give me botox. When I told her I wanted botox and where I want it, she told me I was too young and then that the frozen face look is not in... my god. so many issues with this. First, I am 27, not 16. Second, if her argument was youre too young, she would not do anything, not use a larger amount of a diluted version of the same product that cost the same total amount in the end--eye roll). Third- At no point did I ask for a frozen face look (and if I did, then that would be my decision). Imagine going to get your hair done, saying you want a bob and they told you no that wont suit you that look is very out, Im gonna give you a pixie cut. Beyond that, women of all ages get injections done, the last thing an injector should do is shame you/gaslight you while pushing a different equally invasive, equally expensive procedure on you (perhaps you get a better wholesale deal on dysport and are pushing it on new clients?)Mind you this was for moderate botox, elevens, forehead. This was not a case of body dysmorphia.I told her what I wanted and what I have gotten. Instead of listening and delivering she shamed me and went ahead and did what she wanted. Big surprise the dysport did absolutely nothing.Medical injectors should listen to you, your goals, and your experience. They should not shame you, give unsolicited advice, and ignore your past experiences. And to top all this off, the number of injections she stated was A DIFFERENT NUMBER THAN I WAS CHARGED. I was so exhausted and upset, and they were so uncooperative and disrespectful it seemed there was no chance they would remedy this. Nothing is worse than spending this kind of money for an experience where youre treated with this level of disrespect, and walk away without the results you want. STAY AWAY
