Moved up here from Sacramento 5 years ago and met Carlos when he worked at Rues barber shop in redbluff California. Completely glad to say with having alot of experience with past barbers that were good and bad (very picky with who cuts my hair.), Carlos is definitely the best barber to ever cut my hair with excellent +10 customer service and great attitude, this barber has never let me down. If your looking to get a cut not just only in the redbluff area, but the whole 530 i recommend him. Through the passed years i gave him quite the challenges with different styles and designs on how i want my haircut, and every single time he has passed with an outstanding A+. He is not like alot of barbers around here who will rush your session on an in and out mentality just to get the job done, he will actually put effort and time into making sure your hair is right and fits up to the standards you asked for. With a friendly welcoming mentality, Carlos at Next Level Barbershop is the man for the job. P.s. Never seen another barber be able to calm nervous toddlers down from getting a haircut like this man has done! Well done Carlos!

I am a barber student at Shasta School Of Cosmetology, and have had nothing but a great experience! The staff are great! Friendly! DJ the owner is not only a great teacher but really cares for his students and it shows!Dezmand is the barber instructor and is really just a fantastic teacher! He pushes you to be better and go beyond what you think you can do! He cares about our success and cares about the industry!! And it shows!Lori/Sailor/StaciaReally wonderful gals, and have a great ability to teach! Every time I have a question not only do I get an answer but I feel like a learned something!Wendy and Terry in the office!Most helpful and always on top of what we need as a student!If you are looking to attend this school! Awesome place. Im a girl so I know we normally go to salons and what not, however I just wanted/want a simple cut nowadays. So, decided to check out the barbershop and I am so THANKFUL I did!! I got to work with the father and son I believe?? And Im sorry I cannot remember names, but the father barbers son came in a lil after I arrived and he was young, smart, and chill. Ive got crazy curls and my hair is thick, even when its short, but he was gentle and efficient. My skull feels good lol.Great work guys and Ill be back!

He was a nice fella, friendly, looks like he has been cutting hair for over 50+ years. I saw a picture of him and his hair license. Wow!His name should be Flash!!! He did the fastest most amazing hair cut my son has ever gotten. all on my super impressed 5 year old son. I have taken my son to a few shops in town price from hair salons that charge $40 down to this shop $9His hair cut made up for the look of the place.The place is a bit old, run down, and a tad dirty. We will beGoing back for sure!

So I came here a couple months ago, I asked for a simple trim and a touch up on my layers. The lady's name that cut my hair was Karla, I was under the impression that my hair was going to be cut by Jen as I had asked for her. Right when we first started I let her know that I have naturally curly hair and I had straightened it the day before, I also informed her that I had not brushed my hair that day and I meant to because my hair type tangles within seconds. The moment she started coming my hair with a thin tooth comb from top to bottom I should not have let her cut my hair. Hair 101, brush or comb from bottom to top no matter the hair type. I could see my boyfriend behind me looking at that suspiciously. I still didn't say anything and let her do her thing. She's very lucky that I'm not tender headed, she was combing out a lot of my hair. After combing my hair she asked me what we were doing with it, telling me she had not even looked at my appointment file. I'm not going to go into detail with the cut... but this woman cut the shortest layer above my ears and my longest layers were to my mid back. I had worked for years to get my hair that long. I loved my long hair. She made it look like my hair got chopped with a butcher knife at a butcher shop. Everything was uneven and It looked like I had a longer mullet. I had this haircut for maybe 2 weeks, after that I realized that I would continue doing my own hair like I have been for the last couple years not letting anyone else touch it. I even fed up having to cut my hair shoulder length for my hair to look okay. I miss my long hair more than everything. I do not recommend going here for a simple hair cut.

I cannot think of a business in Redding that I would recommend more than Modern Pup. Jasmine and her team are incredible; they are always kind, excellent at communicating, and do a top notch job on grooming (one of the few places in Redding that will do a scissor cut). Matilda (our dog) absolutely loves all of the staff.They seem to take pride in their facility - the design is bright and cheery and is always very clean. Ive walked into other groomers and could immediately tell by the smell that it wasnt sanitary. I dont have to worry at Modern Pup for the health of MatildaI actively look forward to our once-a-month grooming appointment because I know that Matilda is going to come back looking cuter than ever. I am incredibly grateful for Jasmine and her team.

Overall, this is a cute salon that offers a diverse list of services. I really enjoyed coming in and all the ladies that work there are really sweet with great attitudes! I had my eyebrows waxed once and the gal did a good job. I initially came to this salon for eyelash extensions. Gild was recommended to me by a friend and thought I'd try them out for lash extensions! The girl who did mine was super sweet and she always did an amazing job. I went once for a full set and then two fills after 3 weeks. I have had lashes before and the lash tech who I saw before taught me how to diligently wash and care for my lashes. I cared for these lashes that I got from Gild the same way I did in the past. After a few weeks after the full set, there were lashes that really began to hurt. I noticed when they would fall out, they'd come out in clumps with one or two natural lashes attached. It looked like there was multiple hybrid extensions attached to one natural lash. I was sure to tell the lash tech this during my first fill. She didn't say much about the matter. After my first fill, I noticed that several lashes fell out after my first few times giving my lashes a bath. This happened many times after I'd wash them. I know this is to be expected, but it was an excessive amount that would fall out. Additionally, I felt like the lash fill service was rushed. It only took her a hour for a 3 week fill. In the past, 3 week fills take a lot longer than this (90-120 mins?) which makes me question the diligence of the application process. I have concerns over the quality of the lash extensions provided here and how diligent the lash techs are at applying them. Recently, after washing my lashes, I discovered I have pus coming from one of my natural lashes and this was 3 days after my most recent fill. I was wondering why my inner lashes hurt so much. My eyes felt agitated the day after, which isn't unusual for me because of the gel pad, but something felt like it was poking me and the lashes were falling into my eye. Then, I discover the pus. I am having them removed immediately by a lash tech who I trust (who sadly doesn't do lashes anymore) and won't be returning to this salon. I paid a lot of money for what I hoped would be excellent quality lashes done by a professional who I hoped would have been patient and done a careful, diligent job but I am disappointed. I never had any of these issues in the past when I had lashes previously nor am I allergic. I always do my part in cleansing my lashes to keep them clean, healthy and bacteria free. My hopes in writing this is to warn anyone else who might consider or be questioning the quality and safety of the lashes at Gild. I really wanted to like it here and was so impressed with my full set! She did a beautiful job but now I will be getting these lashes removed.

I recently accidentally knocked my rear view mirror off which took a good size chunk of glass with it. Thankfully the windshield didnt crack. I was able to fill in the missing glass with a windshield repair kit but for the life of me I couldnt get my mirror to stay on the windshield. After several failed attempts I finally caved and figured Id have to replace my windshield. When I took it into Cypress Auto Glass I was told...while it was ultimately up to me...they could replace the windshield if I still wanted them to...they could instead black out the chipped area so its no longer visible and afix my mirror above the chip. In the end this fix worked. They could have just replaced the windshield and made a $300 sale but instead, seeing a simple fix would work they offered that to me and saved me a fair amount of money...and whats more...they ended up not even charging me for what they did! I was floored. Should my windshield crack at a later time due to the large chip I will most definitely take my car back here to get the windshield repaired or replaced. Excellent service...very much recommended!
Affordable Hot Tubs

We recently had the pleasure of finding the most wonderful hot tub store in Redding, CA. They are called Affordable Spas. From the minute we walked in the door, we were treated as if we were the only people in the store. This purchase will be our 3rd hot tub in 22 years and so we have had lots of experiences on this process. Not always are you given this amount of attention and information on their different spas which includes warranties and services. Robert, the owner wrote our information down before we ever left the store and so when we called back to make the purchase he had it all down and could access it quickly. We were explained all of the ins and outs of how the warranties work and how they stand behind their products after years of working with several different spas. One of the advantages of choosing this place to purchase our spa is that they give a veterans discount which means a lot to us. Not many of your smaller businesses will honor those who have served their country. We were able to buy one of the spas from their showroom floor and they were very accommodatingon working out a very quick time that we could get our hot tub delivered. We live 90 miles from their store so it is quite a trip for them to make but that is all included in their service. They also haul away the old hot tub and accessories . The set up went very smoothly and Robert was also very kind as to assist my husband with some of the wiring . My husband is knowledgeable in wiring but so many things have changed since we had our last one installed. Robert had the utmost in patience when working with my husband. Robert brought along his son, Dominic, who was also very helpful and its interesting how much knowledge he has already amassed while working with his dad. Never once did he offer any resistance to whatever his dad asked of him, unlike a lot of our kids would. Although we have only had the hot tub less than a week, we already know that it will work our very nicely and the new Salt System that they have seems quite nice. However, we have been given 4 months on deciding if we like it better than the ozone system we had previously. We would absolutely recommend Affordable Spas to all of our friends and relatives. We have very rarely been as motivated to write a review but this experience should not go unrecognized for how very special it was.
