Overall, I had a very productive and positive experience at the school. But let's break it down the good, the bad, and the ugly:The good: obviously, you have to consider the price. Anywhere that you can get a $35 full cut/style for a woman with long hair is kind of astonishing. For a beauty school, $35 is expensive, but this is the only school in the area that uses luxury products. Rather than drugstore brands, you're getting Kevin Murphy, Oribe, Keratase, and other high-end products. Additionally, all of the instructors seem very involved, and very experienced, and the students seem to feel very empowered to ask for help if they need it. My stylist consulted with an instructor and they both took five minutes to speak with me to really make sure that I wasn't allergic to any of the shampoo choices ( I have some allergies). I even saw one of the founders and owners of the flagship salon helping out students and working on clients there at the school! The particular student who did my hair listened exactly to what I said, and did exactly what I wanted. I got an excellent haircut that I am extremely happy with. Pics to follow. The Bad: really, the only problems with the school are the fact that it's a school. You should know what you're getting into with prices that low and the fact the liability waiver is required before you receive your service. I didn't actually have any negative issues that way, but I read some of the other reviews before going to the school, and they all seem to be “I didn't realize I was going to a school”. The students may take extra long because they don't know exactly what they're doing. If you ask for something really complicated or using cutting edge techniques, they may be unfamiliar with it and do a subpar job. If you're very vague about what you want, they don't have the massive decades of experience to interpret vague client statements. This isn't the place to go if you were really looking for the equivalent of that $160+ haircut that you would get it your typical LA salon. Expect student service, albeit truly excellent student service, but again, you're going to a school.Sidenote – the stylist who did me did not give a very good scalp massage while shampooing, but by God, did she make sure that I got the entire five minutes promised in the service description! It was super cute and adorable. The ugly: my only real complaint, the only issue with the school outside of it, ya know, just being a school, caveat emptor, is that the entire place reeked of chemicals. They have a real ventilation issue, and by the time I left, I had a bit of a headache. That has nothing to do with my haircut. I'm extremely happy with my haircut, and I saw several other people getting mail and coloring services. They looked super great. But the odor of bleach and hair dye and nail polish remover was really really strong.Overall, I would recommend this for any budget, conscious person in need of a haircut, or if all you need is a simple trim or blunt cut.

I really enjoyed my visit here. All the ladies were really nice and friendly. I wish I knew the name of the lady who cut my hair.. but she did an amazing job!!! I told her what I wanted (since I hadn't cut my hair for over 2 years) she listened and gave me her input and my hair turned out great! I still need a lot of work to get my hair into a healthy state but this cut was the beginning and I love it!!! They are also pretty funny ladies and their guest seem to be usuals and family like. I would def recommend
Family Hair Salon

Hello, I'm a person in a wheelchair who needs an accessible shower head bowl to be able to get their hair done. that means that the chair needs to disconnect from the bowl to be able for me and my wheelchair to get underneath the sink to wash my hair. This salon does not have the right equipment to be able to grant access to people in wheelchairs. So this means that they are discriminating against people in wheelchairs. the woman who I spoke to on the phone when I just called them, told me that she wasn't discriminated against me and by not having the right equipment she is discriminating against me. She does not have a bowl that detaches from a chair. The salon only has chairs attached to the bowls in the salon. She repeated over and over again I'm not discriminating against you when she doesn't have the equipment necessary to help me. So she proceeded to ask me if I could stand and asked me if she could carry me and asked me if she could help me do things that are ablest. Things that a disabled person should not have to deal with people moving their body around in ways that they don't want to. That is not helpful!!! Having the right equipment and space and access is available. It is out there for you to find. I guess I had to take you to get this horrible review because you thought I was going to sit around and not talk about what just happened.

Please be aware of Hadeel or Magic, she is false advertising and she didn't do a job for what I paid.I came for microblading and she recommended me Ombré style for $350.00 and I said ok.When she was done she's told me : you need to come back in 1 month and a half for retouch and the price is another $350.Which I said : you advertise an excellent job “your dream eyebrows” for $250.00 or $350.00 in my case and it will last 1+ years, you should be honest with your new clients and let them know that is not just $250 for microblading at the end it going to cost 500.00 + and then you let them decide if they want your services.Today,June 6 after a month when she did a mediocre job, I sent her pictures of my eyebrows they don't look even and the color has faded significantly, it doesn't even match my original eyebrow color. My eyebrows look horrible, and I have been very good with my after care. She did not take any responsibility for her poor work.Instead she blame it on my “oily skin “ which is not my case.I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER SERVICES.Save your time, your money and a headache. She talks very sweet, but she is false advertising and taking advantage of people who comes trusting her “professionals skills and experience”

I want to start by saying that I love the service in this place from Mrs. Susana, she always has an excellent attitude, very patient and always does things exactly as I have asked. She has never tried to overcharge me or change me the price from one moment to the next, being very constant in its service and prices. I am very grateful for the excellent work of Mrs. Susana for more than 8 years that I have been going to this salon. I recommend Ofelia salon and the professional work of Mrs. Susana 100%. Thank you very much for your services to the community.

I love this place. Great barbers and economical! They charge me $10 per haircut; theyre barbers are professional and quick. The only downside is that they havent been taking cards lately, which has been inhibiting my want to go.

My first time here... the lady didnt talk too much, a few grunts and one words here and there.. my eyebrows looked good when they quickly give you the mirror to go over it quickly and they try to get you out of the chair since they start getting crowded.. I got home and noticed a bald spot on my right eyebrow and a lot of small hairs still on both eyes, like she didnt fully clean them at all.. I was like wow, they really do try to get you out of there fast. now I know to really take my time and look at them, but they should also know how to thread since its their job, I called and talked to the manager, nice guy and he worked with me getting me a free appointment for next time, no refund tho.if you get the lady in the far left, make sure to go over your eyebrows slowly and take your time, dont let them rush you out of the chair.

I've never had such a wonderful experience from start to finish at a salon. Especially as a walk in.I was greeted by the smile of Rita immediately. She was so helpful and kind as a walk in. I originally wanted to see if they had anyone for a pedicure, just curious, as we knew it was probably too late, and it was. However, my husband wanted me to ask about getting my hair done as a valentines present from him.So, I told her that it was basically a difficult job as I had a friend and I try to dye it pink and messed it up - so knew I was going to see a large quote. She showed me the menu and calculated my estimate. She told me to come tomorrow in the afternoon at any time so I can talk to Polina, the owner and the woman who would be taking care of me. That all sounded great to us, so we went home a few blocks away. The next day I was greeted again by the very sweet Rita. She introduced me to Polina and Victoria and as I told them about the calamity that was my hair, all three women were confident that they could fix it up and I immediately felt like I was in great hands. They got to work fast. And I mean I felt like a queen! The salon had a lovely little open bar and of course this is the perfect time to order a champagne! As the blue aching time passed, it was indeed getting late. But I had the owner, herself, finishing up my hair until the late evening. She and Victoria worked their butts off, I was totally impressed and not used to this level of service in Los Angeles, where as a transplant I had gotten used subpar, lazy and often deceitful service. This salon is none of those things. By the time they were finished with my color my hair was so soft, it smelled amazing, it was hot pink, it had depth. Did I mention it didn't smell like a megaton of chemicals? I didn't even know that was possible. I thought when we got our hair done we went home put our head on our pillow and reeked of chemicals until a couple washings. It was late in the evening with Polina, so we decided to blow it out and have a hair cut the following day. It was a holiday, after all, Polina is running a family business, so her young children were here at work with her and you could hear little bits of their laughter as they played in another room. Very sweet!By the time I came in for the third day, it felt like coming in to see my girlfriends. I said hello to a now blue haired Rita, we compared hair colors, blue and pink, how cool do we look? Then I sat in a comfy chair again while Polina cut away the perfect style for my face shape while I told her my goal of having silver hair, she said: ‘oh I can do that' I had no doubts she could.I really enjoyed my time there. I could go on about how pristine and state of the art the salon was, that it offered every service, that it was impeccably clean and sparkly… but I most enjoyed my experience with each and every person who worked there. They really made the salon feel like it was truly sterling in every way.Thank you guys so much! With love from a new customer,M

I'm speechless by what I just experienced. Very cruel supervisor working here. Very unkind people in general. They closed up shop five minutes before closing. I understand it's annoying to close on time when you're getting paid minimum wage. I totally get that. But regular people don't know the store hours and aren't purposefully trying to make life difficult for the people who work there. It's not right to treat people like they're less than human because they didn't know. It's not an attack on you because they didn't know. When I walked up I noticed the doors were locked, then I noticed the hours and the time and was hoping they could squeeze in a quick transaction since they were still technically in operating hours. I knocked on the door. A while later, a woman opened up the door and practically barked at me- “what business do you have being here?” What business? I said I just had a return. She told me five minutes minimum and to make shopping quick. Granted, it took a while for her to open up the door, so that ate up some of that time. I told her I wasn't shopping… but she missed that…I made a beeline for the register, it's right by the door anyway. The return process was done in a minute, the woman working was fast. It wasn't an issue. But the treatment and harsh words I got just for asking if I could make a return were so bizarre. When we were just about finished, I remembered what the woman said- about making shopping quick. I wasn't planning on shopping but I did initially intend at looking at a specific product. I knew it wouldn't take much time, so I told them I'd like to go do that, just a thirty second glance, and that I wouldn't hassle them with having to ring me out. I didn't want to make a purchase because they were making it very clear they did not want me there — there was definitely an air of intimidation, you could cut the tension with a knife. I knew I could always make a purchase online, I can't afford the gas for another trip atm. I wanted to treat myself with a brush- just one thing I've been thinking about this last week. I just needed to see them physically. No biggie, right?Upon asking, the -I assume- proud supervisor with his unnecessarily authoritative language aggressively cut me off. He told me he GRANTED me the PRIVILEGE of coming inside (even though the store was technically still open). And that it was now 8:02- I'm not sure if that was even correct, and that I needed to leave. If I was just going to take thirty seconds to look at the brushes, then I needed to get lost (because thirty seconds is more time than he wanted to spend in my plebeian presence). That's fine, but the aggression, the vitriol? How is that necessary?I won't get into details about my personal life, but it's always a mistake to treat others horribly without knowing their story- to treat people like they're less than. I'm sure he would never treat someone he knew like that. Or maybe it's just me, but I would never treat anyone, whether I knew them or not, like he treated me tonight. My interaction with the Ulta employees tonight was distressing. I barely spoke to them, but just by existing as a simple Ulta customer, they had a LOT of aggressive words for me. Not acting like the “king of the castle” is not hard. Showing others kindness is not hard. Life is much nicer when you don't treat others like they're a waste of space. It's not even about treating customers with respect to reflect well on Ulta as a business- it's about basic human to human decency. If customers are not wanted because of the time, it's possible to handle that situation with grace.I'm still really shaken up by all of this.Asian girl with the cute liner who processed my return - idk if you said anything about me when I left, but I genuinely appreciate you for not being rude to my face. I appreciate the neutrality. It doesn't take a lot to not ruin a person's day.

Chris the salon manager is not good. Needs to be fired for his unprofessionalism. He fried my friends hair then didnt want to fix it. So we spoke to the manager of ulta. He does not take constructive criticism in a professional manner when my friend went in there today after the ulta manager Fernanda promised to get my friends hair fixed. Her hair is horrible, I couldve done the same work by bleaching it myself. Gone to Sallys and bought the products myself. Today they backed out on the agreement. I wasnt able to be there with my friend unfortunately. I promise I will be calling corporate because I called to be able to speak to him. I spoke to him in a more than professional manner and he decided not to listen to what I had to say and he hung up on me. Trust that there will be a retaliation against his actions in a legal manner. I have a lot of buddies that work with well know TV channels and I will blast the hell out of this guy on the media. So be prepared Chris. I will make sure you get fired!!! I will wreck your so called professionalism because you have no customer service and you are a horrible hairdresser. DO NOT LET CHRIS TOUCH YOUR HAIR!!!! DONT GO TO ULTA TO GET YOUR HAIR DONE!!! This place needs to get rid of all its employees and hire new ones that actually have great customer service. Go take a few classes on how to treat people and handle a situation. Not just treat them for what they may look. Just because someone walks in there looking all ratchet doesnt mean that they dont have any money and if they didnt you should treat people how you want to be treated.
