I sent an email 7 days ago in regards to the VRAPP program. I received a letter from the VA confirming that yes I still am enrolled and all that kind of stuff. When I send an email regarding the VRAPP things I expect a response as its an official email regarding a government program. My last couple emails have been very contrite however they are official inquiry. I expect a response surrounding the situation with Riggins Urban Barber College. You attempted to drop me while I was on a leave of absence. You have corrected that. What has not been corrected has been when Im coming back to school and when Im going to sign back in off my leave of absence. That is what I need in a written official email for my records. If this is not acceptable I also need to know via email why it is not acceptable and when you intend to put me as dropped so that I may coordinate with the VA appropriately. This government program is very specific. I have to go through your school. If you drop me I cannot use this program anywhere else and I assure you I wont comply with achieving this program through any other means which ensures the full funding of my tuition on your end.Im not impressed with the barbering education administrations here in California. Im almost 40 years old, a veteran, and Ive come to barbering because I want to not because I have to. Ive had a career I choose not to go back to. Im seeking other things to do that make me happy. If barbering keeps on not making me happy Im not going to do it. Ill go work anywhere else. Its not like I dont have many options. Please respond appropriately to my official inquiries surrounding the VRAPP. Hopefully see you soon in class.

TL;DR: Your paying $20 for a $12 haircut.I went to Rawknykz Six times before I deiced to quite. The first time a lady cut my hair and she did great, when I cam back I asked for her and they said she left. I got cut by someone else and he also did great. These where the only good hair cuts I got. The rest were bad or sub-par.I dont mind the barbers talking, joking around or having fun which rawknykz is like. However, there is a line between that and straight up being unprofessional. My barber took two phone calls mid cut (stopping the cut completely). He did an okay job but didnt give me the cut I asked for because he didnt hear me (mid fade vs high fade and not the right length off, small but annoying due to the phone thing).Lastly, I walked in (because appointments cost a lot more, no problem). The guy they had cut me looked new and young but I went with it. He messed up my edge up on the front and didnt even-out the top right. I went home and evened-it-out myself but couldnt do anything about the edge up but try an pick it out. Thats when I stopped going.

My boyfriend went in for a a haircut today by a red-headed woman who works there. She completely messed up his hair and then blamed it on his HAIR. Its pretty laughable really. How unprofessional could you possibly be? Just apologize for your screw up and fix it. Thats it.Anywho, he ended up getting it fixed by someone else who worked there which was a good way to make up for the mistake. However, it still came out unacceptable since the red-headed woman messed it up pretty bad.Who blames a bad haircut on a client? The unprofessionalism should be enough to not get a haircut here. Definitely don't recommend.

You get what you pay for. And at $5 for a haircut, what could I have expected? Only the worst haircut Ive ever had since I did one myself. The place is dirty, especially the restroom. The whole place needs a deep cleaning and new paint, floors, and ceilings. The students are basically unsupervised. Although there is a sign saying that students will be supervised by licensed professionals, at no time during my cut did any instructor or other supervisor take a look. However, several other students stood around and made comments about the job. There was one time when an instructor moved some students into a different room, and warned them about the dress code (which was pretty loose, from what I could see).It was not a busy time, around 9 AM. Many students with nothing to do talked with each other loudly, complaining about the management of the school, and using four-letter words constantly while customers were in the place. The few female students were demeaned by many of the males, but usually out of earshot. But I heard them. Very unprofessional and rude.Spend the extra few dollars and go to a place you trust.

HORRIBLE I requested a mohawk for my son and Jose gave him a faux hawk. The manager still wanted me to pay for a hair cut that I did not receive. She said that they provided a service even though she knew I requested a mohawk. She said she thought it still looked good even though he did not give me what I asked for. She admitted that she knew he messed up but, wanted to still get paid. They do not know how to cut specific styles. If you just want a random haircutt then this is the palce for you.

I got my hair cut by the older asian lady. I asked for a low skin fade and about an inch off the top. If she doesnt know how to cut a fade, she should tell the customer beforehand. She acted like I was an inconvenience from the moment I walked in. At first she was laying down on her phone and ignored me for a few awkward seconds. She said maybe a total of 10 words to me and decided to make a phone call and yell on speakerphone mid haircut. Some kids came in and dragged out some bikes in the little space in front of me. I could smell what Im assuming is their bathroom. The guy next to me asked for his hair to be thinned and was laughed at and told that he didnt need to. He then timidly asked again and the barber reluctantly did it. My skin fade was choppy on the sides and tapered, not faded to a 0 on the back. The lady gave me the wrong change and when I called her out on it she raised her initial price. I walked out of there with a bad haircut and a soaked shirt from how how it is in there. No AC and no fans, and Im not one to normally complain anout the heat. I had high hopes for this place and its walking distance for me, but it was a letdown.

I hate to leave a bad review for a black owned business, but people should know. I would warn against getting braids done by Emani. My finished wet braids looked fine in the shop. But when I got home I realized each braid had been closed with white flaky glue, that scrapes the skin on my back. It's embarrassing to look like this. Additionally I paid for long braids with wavy ends and got chin length braids with 70% loose hair. There is no reason why glue should have been used in the first place. Braids should be closed with slip knots. I tried to settle this directly with Emani, but she was unable and unwilling to offer a solution, other than offering a $20 refund on a $300 service. Now I'm forced to spend even more money to have someone else fix this and have to show up at a wedding looking crazy. Unacceptable and a huge disappointment.

This is my sons second time coming to this Barbershop. They always do a fantastic job. Joe is very patient, and welcoming. My son is autistic, so he is easily triggered, but Trey the barber was very patient with him, and even asked me what are things that soothe him even though Mohammed cried and moved the whole time, Trey worked with him and worked around him, and they made us both feel comfortable. I love this Barbershop and highly recommend.

I have been going to Reo Shave Co. ever since they opened back in 2017. I had the privilege to meet Carlos, who is the owner of the barbershop. I'm a very picky person when it comes to finding the right barber. Carlos has been my most consistent barber I have seen. I have never been disappointed on haircut by him. I always regain my confidence after a haircut by him lol.Reo Shave Co. provides the highest standard of quality, service, and atmosphere. Not only do I appreciate their service but I also admire how Reo Shave Co. has given back to the community. Participated in numerous charities and fundraisers. Reo shave Co. is more than just a barbershop, it became a staple in the community.Go on their website now and book an appointment!

We have just moved into the area, and I went to this place to get my son a haircut, after six years in Japan, the bowl cut was not gonna cut it any more. From the outside, it looks pretty bougie, but I decided to take a chance and walk inside and see if they could fit him in, granted, I had no idea that they already do kids haircuts & men's haircuts. It was just a place I saw, and I wanted to walk in. I figured it couldn't be as bad as the Japan haircuts that he used to get when we lived there. The receptionist was very nice and explained that they were a little busy, but they could squeeze him in 45 minutes, this was perfect so I took my son to grab lunch and we returned in 45 minutes with them waiting for us. Taryn was the stylist that my son got his haircut from, and she was just simply amazing and really knew how to talk to kids and ask them how they wanted their haircut. She was patient. She was funny and she kept me engaged as well. As far as her status, and how far she was into the haircut and what she wanted to do going forward, which I thought was nice cause usually you just tell them what you want and they go nuts. But she actually stop it halfway and said OK we can go shorter or we can keep it long. This is all dumb stuff, but it means a lot to me. It shows that she cares about her job and cares about her clients.Needless to say, his haircut came out perfect and we've been back twice since one for me and another one for him just before school started. The only downside is that she did such a great job, and now he looks much older. So my little buddy is growing up. I appreciate everybody there in the staff they make you feel welcomed they offer you drinks snacks whatever you want and everyone's really professional. Is it a little pricey? Yes, but I think it's worth it for the service that you receive in the styling that you got. And now I don't have to travel far for a haircut.
