Comment: I walked in to the Fontana Recruiting Center with zero knowledge, and zero experience on the military, I walked in with zero clue with what I wanted. All I knew was that, I, for a very long time- have had no direction in my life. I walked in ready to jump into the first opportunity as an Infantryman- a job would get me in quick and get me away from my personal problems.I can say for a certain that SSG Velasquez saw that the moment he opened the door for me and said to me,“Let’s get you sorted out.”I can say for a certain that as the days passed that SSG Fernandez, SSG Blackwood, along with SSG Velasquez- lent me their hands and made me feel that I wasn’t just a Number, or someone to discard, not acknowledge or help, and push through into the next open job slot that wouldn’t benefit me- just to meet a quota.SSG Velasquez made sure to slow me down, and helped me in every way he could; everyone gave me inside tips from their years in the Service, answered all the questions I had, and from all this- from having NO experience, or ANY idea about the military, I began to learn more and more about how the U.S. Army could help me, and more importantly how it could help my future.SSG Velasquez encouraged me to reconsider my job choice to one that would suit me better and benefit me in the long run. I was 22 homeless barley making ends meet I tired to join but most of my Recruiters would give up on me and tell to study with no guidance. But I called here and talked with Ssgt Gloria..he gave it to me straight show me you want it & Ill give you Guidance and help he didnt treat my like just a $$$ walking in he gave me a shot at a dream I wanted since I was 3 years old. These recruiters dont act like recruiters who just want to make a quota or more money on their checks they really care alot. They will fight with MEPs and give you their all1sgt Harp Sgt Veliz Sgt Santos these people care for you and what you want to do. If you ever need true questions answered or a real Mentor call them yourself and find out. I shipped to fort Jackson today when everyone gave up these guys didnt! Thank you all for your Help! Comment: I went to several recruiters around the Inland Empire before finally making my way to this one. They were the only ones who took me seriously as my contract was difficult to acquire. Comment: This station has some of the best recruiters the army has to offer! I was working with the Fontana marines before coming in and I was so hesitant to explore my options. I’m so glad I came in because I was offered so much more and my awesome recruiter, Ssg Plascencia, helped make my dream a reality. He worked with me for 7 long months because I needed a waiver, but he made sure I got in. He will not bs you and if you’re willing to put in the work, he is too! I’ve worked with many recruiters over the years and none of them have shown me what sarnt P has. I went through at least 3 recruiters with the marines and the navy turned me away because they didn’t think I was worth putting in. He’s an awesome snco and is great at what he does! There is so much the army has to offer, I wish I came in sooner!

Every one of my questions, even some that have seemed over curious and unnecessary in hindsight, SSGT Veliz and the other recruiters answered without judgement and with precision, and during the whole process, SSGT Veliz was friendly, helpful, accommodating-- especially as someone who doesnt drive and so needs to be picked up and taken--, and shared many interesting insights with me and gave good pointers as well.While you may hear from some that military recruiters are out to snag and trick people to join, especially young ones (I am 18 years old, for example), I can attest that at no point did they attempt to sugarcoat nor assert propaganda nor push me into some job or option which I did not want.The spirit of teamwork and camaraderie is also very impressive in the office: everyone helps each other, talks to each others applicants and Future Soldiers, and is already ready to answer any questions or share their Army experience. This was reassuring as someone on the point of shipping out for basic training as a reflection on the spirit of the army on the whole.As someone who had a fairly clear purpose in enlisting in the Army and had no roadblocks in the processing, the whole process was streamlined and very fast: I decided on the Army in the mid August 2020, did my MEPS visits and contract in September, and received my ship date for late October 2020.In sum, a great experience with absolutely no negatives. If you are considering the Army or the military branch in any aspect, the recruiters at the Fontana station will be with you every step of the way.

Comment: I went in not knowing what to expect, and somewhat on guard hearing rumors of various things, but when I made the trip I was blown away by all the friendliness, knowledge and helpfulness of the army staff!Before anything I was really impressed by the teamwork between the different sergeants. The way they worked together to help each other out, offer information and tips to one another as well as being generally friendly and supportive was a sight to see! It paints a really positive image of the U.S. Army and helped me personally cement my decision to join.My recruiter, Staff Sergeant Felipe Zemora from beginning to end was helpful, supportive, patient and PROFESSIONAL. Always asking if there was anything more he could do for me to make my time more comfortable as well as offering support and information to my family, helpful tips and just making a difficult decision all the more easier. I could not imagine a better experience.I never felt pressured, pushed or second-guessed in anyway. I was offered support, knowledge and insight as to what I want in a career choice and was more than willing to work with me to make it happen.He gave priceless insight and advice to help solidify my plan, what to expect going in as well as general tips to make my life easier both before I leave and once im in.Supporting him was Sergeant First Class Veliz, who on the days when my personal recruiter was busy, was there often to put himself out there to be available and helpful. Again their teamwork and mutual camradarie was really impressive and admirable. When SSGT Zemora could not make it on the few days off I had, SFC Veliz would already have the necessary paperwork ready there and explain what else my recruiter needed. It was a big help with my busy schedule!Finally Staff Sergeant Plascencia helped me out a lot too, giving a lot of knowledge of the opportunities the U.S. Army wants to provide their soldiers, further cementing a long term career plan, and just in general being friendly, knowledgeable and experienced!The office, its staff and its environment is a big 10 out of 10! If you arent sure what to make of your future, they can help you form a plan. If you have an idea of what you want out of the army, they will work with you the best they can for it, offering countless hours and effort to see it through. If you want to be impressed by the sheer professionalism and amazing TEAMWORK of US Army soldiers, you wont find a better place to see it!

Comment: Sgt Ortiz is very unprofessional, rude, unhelpful recruiter. If you ever find yourself assigned to him I suggest you ask for a different recruiter. He tries to fake a good impression at first, then you start realizing how lazy, uncooperative he is once you choose to sign with him. I hope an investigation open regarding his discrimination against recruits based on religion and race. It is terrible to keep a person like that in his position.
