Comment: I went for my first Morpheus8 skin treatment on my face and neck. The staff was exceptional in communicating pre and post treatment easily through texting and phone calls. I received a great special and financiang was quick and easy making payment a breeze. The facility was sparkling clean and making sure I was safe and protected from any issues post treatment was clearly expressed! Though not like a relaxing facial, the treatment was much easier than I imagined. I was able to tolerate it with out Pronox. I am at day 5 post treatment and I can already see improvement in my face and neck!! I wish I could have afforded PRP as an add on, but will consider saving up for my final treatment.I highly recommend this treatment and team at South Coast MedSpa near UTC, San Diego branch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Comment: A friend recommeded me to come here because she had a good experience, but her experience soon turned sour as did mine. The staff are rude, dismissive, condensing, unorganized, and inconsistent with their treatment plans and explanations. For example, several staff members had conflicting recommendations on the use of their bleaching cream, which had precipitation/solid crystals in it prior to its expiration date. Additonally, they burned me during my hydrafacial and 3 of the 4 BBL (Broadband Light) treatments I had for acne. When I brought up my concerns after my first and only hydrafacial, Nicole, a receptionist, and nurse Jill were rude and condensing and averting the blame of my burn to changing my detergent/skin care products, going out in the sun, or wearing jewelry, all of which I had not changed or been exposed to extensively or at all. When I asked to speak with someone else to help resolve my concerns, Nicole said no and offered no resolution or time to speak with someone else. Because they had a no refund policy, I had to continue the treatments I paid for or lose the money. Nurse Kelli performed 4 BBL treatments, and the first one went as well as a laser treatment can go. I had no irritation/burns/hyperpigmentation, but during the second, third, and fourth treatments, she increased the intensity which resulted in large dark spots all over my face. I brought up every concern I had over text, with photos, after every treatment, and they said it was normal and would let the nurse know. I didnt have a chance to bring up my concerns to the nurse in person during my second and third BBL because I was bombarded with other treatments they wanted me to try because the BBL wasnt working as they had expected, and Kelli never gave me space to talk about my concerns during those appointments. During my last appointment, when I wasnt bombarded with other treatment options, I had shown her the texts I sent to the office number, and it appeared she had never seen them before and said that she would lower the intensity of the laser because I was getting burns/scars/hyperpigmentation from the laser. This leads me to believe that they do not consult with their help line to change up their treatments and to resolve concerns. Overall, nurse Kelli was awful with client interactions and performing BBLs because she was always rushing during the appointment, even though I was always on time, and she burned me. At the end of my treatments, I still had acne in addition to the hyperpigmentation from the BBLs, which took almost 4 months to fade away, and I felt worse off than when started treatments. They recommended 6 to 9 sessions of BBL, but given their extremely poor customer service, inconsistent treatment plans, and the hyperpigmentation they caused, I did not feel comfortable returning. I sent an email detailing my concerns to their manager, Erin, and she was also dismissive and apologized that I felt that way rather than for their poor treatments and customer service. Please do not get any sort of treatments done here. They dont care about your concerns.

Comment: I had the Morpheus 8 treatment and my PA was great! She was very professional, caring, and worked efficiently to do a treatment in an area (around the eyes) that’s quite painful. She made sure that my skin was really numb to withstand the laser, and ensured that any sensitive areas received extra protection. She also safely maxed out the laser settings to get maximum benefits from the session. Their staff are very responsive and patient with answering any questions or concerns. They also work with you to accommodate your schedule to book appointments.I highly recommend SCMS for the Morpheus 8 treatment!

Comment: I want to share my experience because I had a great service and unfortunate surprise about 2 days after last laser. I did 6 treatments and a touch up with 3 treatments. After my last procedure I saw the dark moustache lines above my lips. The staff did give me a cream to use, and I am on it now. I learned it was melasma and when I spoke to the nurse in main office, she did tell me it can sometimes occur after laser treatments. When I spoke to staff in San Diego, they said that it will likely go away but can come back. I do have other spots on my face. There are no burns or anything else but now I have an increased sensitivity to sun in that area and even when I apply the sunblock, I can feel the tingling sensation. I’ve never had this happen before. The hormonal changes can cause the pigments and so can the sun. And I’ve never before had the spots above my lips. The sad thing is it’s only above my lips. But I had laser on my chin too. Maybe the laser treatment increased my sensitivity to the sun even after waiting the required hours. I absolutely regret doing this procedure. It is not a blame on the business about machines or service. The professionals who do this know a lot more than me, and I feel weak and at a disadvantage and think that LHR should be avoided in the summer. I do feel like I should have been discouraged to do this until fall. I understand you have to run a business, and this means more clients. And if you were to advise me, I would have waited until my skin went back my natural color. I enjoyed the experience all the while not knowing this could have potentially permanent damage. I feel self-conscious and now I have to apply concealer every time I leave my house. Absolutely distraught. I will seek advice from a dermatologist as advised and will update my review for progress. I am thankful for the complimentary cream, and I am using it now. I read articles and reached out to professionals. In the end, you may get it and you may not. It’s your risk. I risked and it happened to me. In the end I feel damaged physically and emotionally.I am not completely satisfied with appointment correspondence and general communication regarding services. Received an appointment reminder completely on a different day and it threw me off completely, until I reached out to verify. Then I was told I can come to the office before 5pm. I came by and the door was locked. I stood there knocking on the door like an idiot, and calling the office to see if anyone is there. I did not appreciate that the staff told the main office that they were under the impression I wasnt coming. So, they just left without calling or messaging me. Would you like that if this was you? Also, I asked twice to be removed from marketing messages. Second time I was told I need to respond remove in order to accommodate my request. The first request should be enough to comply. I do not need to make special replies for you to simply respect my wishes to remove me from marketing messages. For this reason, I am changing my review. It is very insensitive to keep offering me LHR services considering what I went through.

I was excited to get a deal for 2 for 3 face and neck… After a consultation (which was surface to say the least and completely over the phone no video) I had to google that I wasn’t a candidate for the treatment because of prior medical issues. The business refused to give me a refund on me $400 deposit which was only given to lock in a deal price before it expired but nobody told me I wouldn’t be able to get the treatment because of previous medical conditions. They gave me ZERO indication that I wouldn’t be a candidate or that my deposit would be unrefundable regardless. Now I’m out $400 never received any treatment and they’re essentially stealing from me. DO NOT GO HERE. There are so many other medspas in San Diego who wouldn’t dream of treating potential clients like this. RIP OFF. GO ELSEWHERE.I was also led to believe this was a laser treatment which it is NOT! Comment: I moved from Las Vegas and my beloved laser hair removal spot and in my search I found SCMS. They use a different laser than I am used to, but the results are similar, if not a bit better. I am in maintenance mode for my facial fuzz, so the 3 session package works great for me. Pricing is double than I was paying but totally worth it. Front desk and nurse who administered the treatment were nice. The only bummer is that they do not validate parking in the lot. Not a huge deal, but it would be nice if they did. Comment: I came in to get a lazer removal for hyperpigmentation(black dots on my face) the first time I came in everything seemed fine. Was charged $100 to remove a few dots on my face. I followed the procedure that was recommended post treatment. I also wore a face mask when I went out to protect the sensitive areas. So, things seem to be OK right? Wrong, wrong,wrong. Two weeks later guess what comes back? My good friend hyperpigmentation to ruin my face. But he came back with a vengeance. I come in for a second treatment as I felt that they should have been gone if I followed their procedure and they did a good job removing them right? Nope. When I came back, I was charged another $100 to redo the procedure. Now, heres where things really start heating up. About two weeks ago the pigmentation came back. So I thought well heck, third times the charm I guess....but...are they gonna charge me again? Yup. But anyway, I just want this over with so I can forget about it.Negative, I made an appointment but unfortunately had a scheduling issue due to finishing a research report that I was pressed on time for. I called them to reschedule the appointment and was slapped with a $30....$40???? Cancellation fee, I cant remember anymore as I was so upset I didnt want to give them my business anymore given that their procedure failed to do what it was suppose to do. You would think since we are in a college area, they would be more open and understanding to people who are crunched for time due to school and make mistakes, but instead, use this to siphon money from already finanically struggling college students. To add insult to injury, the receptionist made it seem like everything was my fault and I should have known better. I mentioned that I have been a good client for the last few procedures and she made it see like she didnt care, with an oh well attitude, this was very unsettling and now Im out $200 without getting any positive results from their procedure.....terrible. I have been struggling with facial hair sense I was a teen I did everything to remove the hair the only thing I haven’t tried was laser hair removal and wow I’m so glad I took a step on faith and book my sessions I did some research before I went though because I am an African American women and I didn’t know if this laser would work on me at all and knowing how much hair I was dealing with on my face would this be something that would be able to help my problem because I have a full bread like a man due to ocos so I just didn’t know if this would work and I’m here to tell you it in FACT WORK on my African American skin and it didn’t damage my skin! Comment: I had a great experience at South Coast Medspa. My Laser hair removal had excellent results. The laser machine they use is almost painless and fast while very effective. I don’t need to shave any more. I have done laser in many other places, and this one was the best results (even on tiny hairs). I also did a BBL laser package for acne, and it worked for me. I don’t have to take antibiotics for acne anymore, as my skin became acne-free after a few sessions. They are very professional and front desk is very nice. The scheduling is easy and they always communicatewith you quickly and follow-up with you to see how you’re doing after a treatment, I highly recommend this place.

This place is super busy with loyal patients but they manage their schedule well and have always started on time with all the services I’ve had so far. They maintain their paperwork to the T and text reminders are always prompt and helpful. Everyone pitches in and gives you attention while you’re being prepped for your treatment and they regularly check in on you after every treatment. Most importantly, I believe they know what they are doing. I’ve been to many places getting laser acne scar resurfacing treatments and here, for the first time, I see noticeable results and I’m hopeful about the future of my skin. Comment: I did acne scar removal treatment, which costed me about $5000, 4 laser resurfacing plus plasma treatment. Its almost same amount of having a cosmetic surgery done. For the cost, the result is not so satisfying. They said, its due to age and genetics after my treatment was finished. Their website mention, * Individual results may vary and results are not guaranteed. Patient photos courtesy of South Coast MedSpa unless otherwise stated. So, if you are in your 50s and genetically not so suited for the treatment, I recommend not doing the treatment. I think its better to go see cosmetic surgeon and get it done even if its a bit invasive. I wasted my money. I actually ended up going to the wrong location by mistake for my first appointment but Danielle at the front desk was amazing and after calling Erin, was able to accommodate and help me out regardless of my slip up. Getting a brazilian wax hurt more than laser removal in my opinion. It’s great that they have this fan/AC blowing out of the nozzle, so I feel the coolness of the fan more than the laser. Aquaphor worked better on my skin. 24 hours after the treatment I had itchy skin and big bumps of acne. Its been 2 months and it didnt make my skin look any better but worst because the reaction left dark spots on my face. They made a follow up call and promised to mail a whitening cream but I never received any from the mail. But instead of the first consult being with a doctor to evaluate my scarring from shingles I saw the finance person Damon who pretty much quessed at what I needed and sold me treatments, took money down with payments each month with their requirement of waiting one month for the first laser treatment. Had a phone consult with the Doctor who over sees this laser clinic but with his lack of medical knowledge decided I was not eligible for the laser treatment and failed to tell his staff or me and I took time off from work and so did my husband To drive me and provide any after care I might of needed. Drove the hour and a half only to get there and wait an hour before the informed me I could not have the treatment. Very poor communication, wasted my time and money and had a hotel nearby to stay for the first night after treatment. Very disappointed and cant recommend South coast Med Spa.

I wasnt pressured to buy anything or sign up. Just given a run down of how much it was and what was included. I wanted full body. I waited on the purchase, and shopped around for the last year. I found every other laser hair removal place to be more expensive and extremely pushy (and extremely unprofessional). I came back to South Coast because they were the most honest and straight forward company. After having a 2nd free consultation a year or more later, I signed up on the spot. They specialize in skin care and laser hair removal. They dont share their office with anyone else. And they use REAL nurses to complete the procedures. Extremely professional, accommodating. And INEXPENSIVE. They remember you, and want the best results for your situation. I am very happy with my results, even after just 3 sessions. I have also signed up for laser vein removal, underneath my eyes and around my mouth. I cannot wait to start that procedure and couldnt trust anyone more!!! I love Hannah and then team :)

So for years I have been thinking of getting those hair removed because I got tired of plucking them. Then when I started to see white chins hairs I knew I need to get to a laser hair treatment place asap and so I found myself at SCMS. I looked into many facilities in my area that offer this service and picked SCMS because of the reviews they received and the coverage area of the laser treatment. Comment: Ok, so I was contemplating laser hair removal for a few years before my boyfriend bought me a gift card for full legs, underarms, brazilian, and happy trail. I could not be happier that Ive started the process. Ive only done 1 treatment so far for each region and Im surprised at how well its working! I literally have to remind myself to shave my underarms because Ive gotten out of the habit of shaving. I have pale skin and dark hair, which is the perfect combination for hair removal. The only downside is that you have to wait 8 weeks before you can go back (normal hair growth cycle)...The staff was super friendly and did a great job letting me know what to expect from the treatments. She explained that it would feel like a vacuum type suction and then warmth and then she started with my thighs (which are the most gentle spot to start with) and did her thing. Even as she talked to me, she was extremely focused on making sure she zapped the whole surface area. I was surprised that the most painful place was my ankles (because theres no fat and they have to use a different type of laser). She gave me an ice pack to numb it before she started the treatment and that helped a lot! Im going to try some pre-treatment numbing cream for my sensitive regions and see how that works. If youve ever been waxed, this is way less painful! My legs were virtually pain free, my underarms, bikini, and happy trail were all iced so there was very little pain.All in all, this place is fantastic and as weird as I felt walking in there the first time, they calmed me down with their professionalism and just down to earth personalities. For a comfortable, painless experience, I definitely recommend south coast med spa.

The place is very clean, and very easy to get to, has plenty of parking. They dont nickel and dime you for very everything like other places. My husband and I both used their services for laser hair removal and are very happy with it!!

Comment: My experience at SCMS, from the initial phone call/visit, to the actual procedure (acne scar removal) has been nothing less than stellar. The staff are knowledgeable, personable, and professional. All my questions were answered with patience, respect, and motivation. All steps of the process were communicated efficiently and timely. The procedure itself only took about 20 minutes and the healing time about 7 days. Im very happy with the results. Thank you SCMS!

Comment: This clinic is the place to go for laser hair removal! Ive had a great experience and great results. After a year, Im loving what I see and Im enjoying my hairless legs and underarms. Before finding South Coast Med Spa, I was really embarrassed to show off my legs and underarms in public, but now Im comfortable wearing tank tops and shorts when I go out. Comment: I went to SCMS for acne laser resurfacing. I have tried everything to treat my acne (blue light, proactive, oral antibiotics and other creams from the dermatologist). When I went for my consultation, they gave a great presentation. I had an idea of how the procedure would eliminate my scars. I had my first treatment in December and Ive already received several comments at work. I have 2 more to go and i cant wait see how great my skin will look. Just FYI, the procedures are done at their Newport location because of the machine used. Its an intense procedure, so be sure to weigh your benefits. As far as Im concerned, Im extremely happy with my decision.

Comment: First Visit they explain the procedure you are interested in in great detail with power point presentation. Everybody is super nice and professional, i went for laser hair removal been very pleased with the results ( there is some pain depending on body part ) but far less pain than waxing and for me waxing left me with acne like symptoms which Laser hair removal does not.They offer you a numbing cream which i recommend if you are receiving laser hair removal on a sensitive area. I highly recommend them they do a great job of catering to their clients and i wish most of my doctors took this good of care of their patients.

Comment: I am so glad that I went to South Coast Med Spa!!! I have had acne scars for years, and ive been so self concious if them. But because of my dark olive complection II was afraid to do anything about it since all of the laser treatments can lead to hyperpigmintation. When I watched all the videos on the South Coast Med Spa website and heard all of the testimonials from clients, I knew I had to schedule for a consult. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE! Life changing event! The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgable and accommodating. The consult was incredibly informative, and I felt very confident after leaving. The staff is very supportive, and helpful every step of the way. Before the procedure, during, after...they are just fantastic. I have only been in for one session so far, but I can tell you that I am incredibly happy with the results. My scars have already softened quite a bit. I honestly couldnt be happier with the people, the service or the results. I definitely recommend them. And honestly...how much money do we spend on clothes every year. It makes sense that we would invest in our skin. If you have insecurities about acne scars, its worth giving them a call. It really is.

I had the worst facial hair as a woman and was always tweezing, waxing or shaving. After 6 treatments my face has healed completely and is smooth as a ever. I dont have embarrasing bumps or scars left. This was also very affordable with in home financing and great staff!!

Comment: I give this place 5 stars. I just started going for laser hair removal treatments in 2013. Everyone makes you feel comfortable and the staff is very nice and knowledgeable. The facility is clean and small. Ive never had to wait for any of my treatments, just walk in, zap zap and walk out.On the plus side, their laser works really well with my skin type and hair. Everyone should get laser hair removal!

Comment: Damon was very helpful over the phone and was able to book a last minute consultation with me same day. After arriving at the professional looking building, going up to the 3rd floor and seeing a nice waiting room and being greeted by Damon, he was able to quickly meet with me to make sure all my needs and concerns were met. I then met with Julia who was able to explain the medical aspect of the procedure and she too was able to answer any questions or concerns I had. Staff was on point and very professional. Next thing I knew I was convinced this was for me and I was in a nice office waiting to get my first laser treatment. Everything went amazing, Julia went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and continued to answer questions throughout the procedure. Very impressed with the overall operation of the company, professional and friendly staff, and ease of the procedure. I would definitely recommend South Coast MedSpa to anyone that is looking to get laser hair removal.

Comment: I visited SCMS 2 weeks ago for laser hair removal. My entire experience was excellent. The office staff is friendly, professional, and thorough. The facility is clean, easy to get to, and I dont think I waited more than a total of 5 minutes the whole time I was there. I was asked to fill out a short questionnaire about my skin type in order to ensure I would respond well to the treatment and to ensure I didnt have any skin conditions that would prevent me from having laser hair removal. Erin, the office manager also showed me a brief presentation on the procedure which was informative and made me feel completely comfortable with the procedure. The PA was very professional and the treatment didnt take longer than 10 minutes, there was a tiny bit of discomfort just from the suction of the laser, but on a scale of 0-10 Id rate the pain at a 2. After one treatment, I have already noticed my hair growing back thinner and there is less of it. I would 100% recommend SCMS based off of my experience.

Comment: I was very impressed at the dedication of Dr. Jagusch and the staff at South Coast MedSpa. At our consultation, he sat down with me to look at the level of my acne scars and extensively discussed how they would treat it. I felt comfortable under their care and was even confident and impressed that even though another doctor would be doing my treatment, Dr. Jagusch promised hed be in the room with us overseeing the procedure.During the treatment, I remained confident in both doctors and they both constantly updated me on my progress and made sure I was doing okay. Although the treatment was a bit uncomfortable and was painful in some areas, the doctors supported me and gave me encouragement through the entire process.Its now been two weeks since my treatment and I cant believe the results! At my consultation the doctor told me that my first treatment would expect a 40-70% improvement and that my face would continue to heal over the next 6 months to one year. If this is already my result, I cant wait to see myself in the next few months. People in my everyday life have already begun to comment on my face, telling me how smooth, soft, and clear it looks.Ive gone through my entire teenage and adult life being extremely self-conscious about my appearance and since this treatment, its the first time in my life that I FEEL pretty because my face LOOKS more clear. Comment: DONT GO HERE!My wife and I came in to have laser hair removal done and we will NEVER go back.We called around and found this place to have the most reasonable prices. I had my back and chest treated and my wife had her bikini and legs treated....AND we both got burned in all the areas! When my wife called them to let them know what had happened, they said it was a normal reaction and that it could go away in a few days.First of all, a normal reaction is NOT to get burned!!!! Second, it didnt go away after a few days. Its been 3 weeks and the marks are still there. I really feel like we will have scars from this. We just called them again, and this time, they said this can take a few WEEKS to resolve. When we asked for a follow-up appointment, they said NO and we would have to wait until our next treatment is due in another 4 weeks!NO WAY will we go back there. Im going to file a complaint with our credit card company to get this charge back!
