Comment: UNPROFESSIONAL Front desk!!SF, CASTRO location has the worst front desk service I’ve ever experienced at any LaserAway! For example, when I was on the way out after my treatment I went to the front desk/receptionist to schedule my next appointment. However, one of the lady’s who scheduleds appointments, don’t know her name so I will describe her…. Mid 20’s, 5 feet tall, light skin, Latina, with light brown hair….. was too busy talking about getting plastic surgery done all over her body from a place in México with other people, while I’m standing there trying to schedule my appointment then starts complaining to one of the nurses about her lip fillers hurting her because she’s sitting there eating an apple in front of the clients at the front desk, she even told me hold on so she can take a couple bites of her food, while I’m standing there still waiting, I kept asking her if she could finish up but kept telling me yeah yeah yeah then would get distracted taking to the nurse again! The nurse looked very uncomfortable as she was ignoring me “The client” then finally scheduled a me. Fast forward to my appointment I get there today and she tells me I’m late…. Like what how? I got here 10 minutes prior to my appointment she starts saying that she forgot to tell me blah blah blah. The reason being is because she was too busy talking about her own personal life with the nurse for HELLA long that she wasn’t able to fulfill her job duties correctly. Now I’m stuck with no appointment after I just drove all the way from the EastBay. To make matters worse she wouldn’t allow me to speak to a manager or give me her name so that I can give the information to corporate. Instead she came out from behind her desk area upset that I called corporate and continuously tried getting real close in my personal space, threatening me that I will no longer receive services. She was very aggressive calling people on her cell phone telling them things about me as she was standing real close to me yelling for me to leave the clinic. I told her I wasn’t going to engage and that I would just take up with LaserAway so that they can find a resolution because she was completely irate and extremely UNPROFESSIONAL she made LaserAway look real bad. Than when talking to corporate they told me my account is on a temporary hold meaning I have no access to my services which I already paid thousands of dollars in advance. Like what? I get completely verbally assaulted and treated extremely unprofessional but my account is on hold? And I was on the phone with corporate the whole time which they were able to hear how crazy this lady sounded. The cherry on top is they have EVERYTHING on camera! So at this point they need to just give me my money back or fix this immediately!! Lastly, there are more bad reviews about the same front desk people at the SF, CASTRO location on here so that most definitely is a RED FLAG!!

I was not happy with one of the treatment that I purchased then they offer me another package.They ending overcharge me on my credit card. Finally, I have to deal with human resources which took me almost one month to resolve this issue. I ending paying a lot of money for unwanted services. I do not want to coming back to that place.When I tried to talk to the staff (manager) and another staff who offert me this package to clarify about this overcharge me they were very rude toward me and told me that nothing was refundable. I hope human resources addressed this problem with their staff because they. need to learn how to be honest with their customers.

Comment: In my experience this is nothing more than a scam. Please avoid at all cost. Their lasers are old, out dated, and break down in the middle of sessions, plus when they do work they just arent effective. Ive done laser at more than a handful of locations and by far LaserAway has been the worst. If you try to cancel they inflate their pricing, so you pay to go away. Staff is highly commissioned and care only about the sale. Its nearly impossible to get an appointment once you are a customer. End-to-End this place is just awful. Trust me, spend your money elsewhere. Even their package pricing, regardless of which promotion they are selling, is more than standard market rate for any give treatment area.

The person on the phone, I forgot their name, but was very kind, and wanted to hear more about the situation. They proceeded to apologize and say they totally understood how it could be confusing, and then was able to actually get me in for an appointment for tomorrow. Mostly all of my visits have been good other than this one, so possibly I was just in a bad mood and rated too harshly for a minor inconvenience of a first world problem over cosmetic work. I was just irritated. Anyways hands down for such a proactive team for reaching out and figuring out a way to make things better. Definitely will be coming back with customer service like this.Honestly only giving 2 stars because it’s not anyone who works their fault, but their system is horrible. I made an appointment for today for Botox and lip injections, I got a confirmation afterwards for a 2:45 appointment that I confirmed a week ago, then yesterday I got a text for a confirmation for an appointment at 3, I figured they changed my appointment and was fine with this, so I confirmed at 3. I show up to find out that my appointment was at 2:45 and that the appointment at 3 was for the lip injections but now that I’m late I don’t have time for both treatments, I said fine can I just do the lip injections today then, and they said there wasn’t enough time. I don’t understand how 15 minutes “late” makes me exempt for 1 out of the 2 services, sounds like they were overbooked. I told them “when I make an appointment for a doctors visit they don’t make me make a separate appointment for a physical, and then a check up, and then etc. it’s all under one appointment. It’s honestly annoying because I spend money on an Uber, and take time out of my day, to only be rescheduled again at a much later

Comment: I am giving 3 stars due to the amazing nurses; they are always very gentle and empathetic. The front desk people I cannot say the same. All they care about is upselling you, I have never seen them caring for me or advocating for me.Hair removal works well, on the second treatment you see a huge difference.They insist on the 8 treatment deal; it is good but do not buy for all the areas you want at once. I bought: arm pits, full-leg, and bikini area. My first two sessions they spent almost 1.5 hours with me and they did a great job. After that they were not as detail oriented and they tried to get things done too fast and I was out after 45 min.Result: I only have 1 treatment session left, and now that I have not gone for 3 months I see how much hair I still have ( I was never very hairy).My recommendation is that someone buys only 2 areas at a time, and they insist on the person to be very detail oriented. Ask for it, the nurses are nice, but they are booked back to back and tired and so they tend to rush if you have too many areas to cover in one session.I also recommend taking 2 to 2.5 months between sessions. I did everything fast like they recommend (1.5 months scheduled to get it over fast), but that time is not enough for all your hair to grow. Please listen to me, now that I have 3 months I see how much hair I still have and I could not see it before bc I was going every 1.5 months.A few last thoughts:It is so cold during the session, the room has to be cold I assume.Lastly, something I do like about LaserAway is that you do not get to select the nurse or have a consistent nurse, that means you are always exposed to a different person and showing your parts to a new person and building the trust - this part I very much dislike about LaserAway.I believe having one person taking care of you could lead to better results, since they can tell your hair removal evolution and you have established a relationship.I have had 7 sessions, and 7 different nurses. Only 1 was not very good at her job, the others were great, but again I wish I knew to wait more time between sessions and show them picture where I still have a lot of hair and advocate for myself for them to do more detail oriented job - by the time I did this, was my 7th session and now I only have one left. Most likely I will need to buy more. Most likely that was the intent from the star. I already spent 5k dollars and I will need to spend at least another 2k to get the results I want.BTW, thin hair is very hard to remove, I have noticed mostly the more visible hair are gone.

Comment: First I want to say Dana, who helped me decide on treatment and scheduling me was amazing.However some pretty sketchy business occurred at the actual facility. They called me the day before saying the nurse couldnt do filler at that time any more and wanted to reschedule but could still do Botox. I said ok but that I would reschedule both so I didnt have to make two separate trips. Then suddenly it was fine and the nurse could do it.I come in that day, the nurse is very nice. I ask about dysport instead of Botox because its faster acting. She says no problem and that I would end up saving $200. She then keeps complimenting my lips and tells me she doesnt think I need filler.. nice enough but kinda strange considering the call the previous day. But I let it go.Then I go online to see that my $200 credit is returned, and the nurse listed I got Botox not the dysport. I call and all they can tell me is the inventory is correct and that I was given Botox.I had a bruise under my eye which isnt uncommon but hasnt happened in the past. And my nurse lied about the product she was using- either to me or company.Would not recommend

Comment: DO NOT GO HERE. LaserAway is a money making scam and Im shocked this company is still in business -- do not go here. Go to SEV Laser instead. I initially bought a membership package for 8 treatments and was told at the time that I could cancel the membership at any time for any reason. They had me sign an agreement with them over text (?) and then I started receiving bills from a third-party lending service, not LaserAway itself. This is not a membership you pay monthly (like a gym) but an actual loan youre taking out on the cost of the services. It is pitched to customers like a membership. I wanted to cancel the membership for two reasons: (1) I was not pleased with the services - Ive had laser at other places and their lasers are out of date and extremely painful (the tech herself told me that their lasers are not the newest and thats why it hurts more - they can offer numbing cream but it is not included in your membership and costs extra) and (2) my doctor said I can no longer receive laser hair removal for medical reasons. It took me >3 months to cancel my membership. I had to escalate this to their corporate & legal teams just to get a response from anyone. They had every intention of letting me pay the full amount for services I could no longer receive for medical reasons. They ended up giving me a partial refund, but I *still had to pay over $1,200 for one treatment*. For context, the cost of the same treatments at SEV Laser is $220.Beyond all of this, the team is beyond rude and anytime I called to get clarity or needed help, I was not treated with disdain, as if I shouldnt have called in the first place. I will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau.

Comment: Terrible horrible no good customer service.I got Botox, xeomin (and I was told xeomin was exactly the same as Botox but it is not and does not work as quickly and doesn’t last as long), tattoo removal, and clear & brilliant facials at the Castro St. location in San Francisco.The services were OK and the staff is mostly friendly- some a little bougie. But! They refuse to refund the 3 packages I bought, even though I have now relocated to more than 3 hours away from the nearest laser away location.I have called at least 6 times and e-mailed and they keep promising someone will call me from corporate or customer service, or I was told once they contacted the owner of the Castro district SF location- and no one ever calls or gets back to me.Terrible, terrible customer services. Positively do not recommend. Horrible business practices. Horrible customer service.

Comment: I went in for Laser hair removal, Brazilian,and underarms, I bought a package of 6 and they gave me 2 for free. In the beginning the sessions were tolerable but my 6th 7th and 8th they were more intense, the nurses were very attentive and professional, there was a few incidents were they didn’t have my appointment on the schedule twice, even though I got a confirmation text, when I arrived they say I wasn’t scheduled so I had to go home, (they offer an extra session for this mistake) the other time they did take me but I had to wait for a nurse to be available, overall I recommend Laser away for hair removal it’s been 3 years and I am very happy with my results my hair hasn’t grown back as much it’s like peach fuzz on my bikini area, and I don’t grow any hair in my underarms anymore, very satisfied.

I had originally agreed and contracted a laser package with my bikini + chin + areola last year, I only have 2 sessions left but yesterday when I came they said I NEVER paid for chin even though it had been on my record for the past year. When I finally talked to someone on the phone she said it must have been a misunderstanding and that they meant they could switch areas but that was never spoken to or written anywhere. I was going to keep coming back for other work but Id rather put my money somewhere else where they are professional and values customer contracts.

She called about my negative review, and I told her I emailed several times to encounter 1 month response times and ultimately no reply. She blamed me, saying their support staff already did everything they could. She then told me she would call me right back with a support update and never did. Instead she just sent passive aggressive emails, blaming me for my lack of timeliness and for not emailing the right people. I emailed [email protected] and Ive been requesting assistance since May...only to receive no response. Furthermore, she also questioned me on why I didnt purchase all 8-10 treatments at once! Seriously? Im asking for a refund on one treatment I didnt receive, and youre asking me why I didnt spend more money? They treat you nicely to get a contract signed and money deposited, and then treat you like dirt. NEVER go here. Save your money and go somewhere more affordable where the staff are actually kind and empathetic.---I prepaid for a session which I never received. I never got my money back to this day. The representative did not tell me I cannot have sun exposure before getting the treatment so I showed up and was turned away. Afterwards I left for a trip and then the closure happened due to the pandemic. Despite multiple emails, I have been denied getting my money back for a service I didnt receive. They have also completely stopped replying to all my emails. Just awful service and zero empathy towards customers.

Comment: On our last session, the nurse told me that they had originally mis-calibrated my skin type and hadnt been giving me strong enough laser hair removal the whole time. 8 sessions, > $1k later, and my hair looks *exactly* the same as it did before. The nurses and staff are nice enough, but it was insane to spend that much money for absolutely nothing -- and then at the end they admitted it to me, with no compensation. Ridiculous.

Comment: TL;DR: This place is just a money making scam.I bought the Groupon for laser tattoo removal and am almost ready to just walk away from the remaining treatments. I didnt know what it would be like or if it would be worth the investment, so I thought this was a good way to see if I could handle it, etc. So before I even get an appt, at the initial consultation theyre trying to upsell me on a promotional package that ends this Friday, which is conveniently tomorrow (biggest eyeroll ever) because my tiny, black, .75x.5 tattoo will apparently require 10-15 treatments. Totally contradicts all the research Ive done by, like, A LOT. But ok, fine, Im just a google expert at this point, these people are the professionals. He also informs me that going to another tattoo removal place after the Groupon is up will result in me having to start over, etc, that its a terrible idea. Um, I guess it speaks to customer retention if you have to talk about this before the first appt. 🤷So Im traveling from SJ for my first appt and they text me within the hour of the appt that they need to reschedule because the machine will be in maintenance. Um, nosorry. So they somehow manage to get me in that day anyway. (???) The nurse who does the treatment cant decide how my skin will react because my skin type isnt clear to her, despite me explaining it. The process is not painful, despite initial consultation dude informing me that it would be excruciating (after telling him unmedicated childbirth was the most pain Id experienced).8 weeks later, there is no change. At all. It looks exactly the same. It didnt hurt, burn, bruise, nothing following the treatment. Based on all this scheming bs, my evidence-based conclusion: pretty 1000% positive they set the increments super-di-duper low so you need their treatments indefinitely.And I got a text the other day. Apparently, the machine will be in maintenance for the week (??? Again? For a week??) of the appointment I scheduled 8 weeks ago.Bogus. Do not give them your $$$.

Ummm, no. Im not coming back 8 times to get effective treatment, i left work early to get this one. Im frustrated and feel like i wasted my time.
