Comment: So I spent 1-2 years debating if I was going to get a hair transplant. There are so many factors: cost, pain tolerance, convenience, effectiveness, care, etc. I really didn’t know what to expect when I settled with Dr Sean Behnam, but the underlying theme I kept finding in reviews and comments was his willingness to continuously check in on his patients and give precise step by step instructions pre and post op. That wasn’t even the best part, the best part was the entire procedure (which I did in two days because I had so many grafts) was PAINLESS. I was thoroughly impressed; he’s one of the few doctors who has a local anesthesiologist to put you at ease. If you want quality, you gotta go for premium. It’s a lifetime investment, Dr Sean doesn’t cut any corners. He tells it like it as and won’t lead you astray. 6/5 stars.

Comment: We got a hair transplant done with Dr. Sean in November 2022, but had been in touch with him since early 2019. Throughout, our experience with him has been absolutely fantastic. He showed us a lot of care, and he made sure that we made the right decision (for instance: encouraging us to wait instead of hurriedly doing the surgery, so as to see the best results down the line). He is very invested in making sure his patients are happy. Even to this day, he calls and checks in on us. And of course, he is a very skilled surgeon and a leader in his medical field.We are very thankful that we worked with Dr. Sean. Comment: I don’t normally write reviews by my experience with Dr. Sean Benham and his team has been amazing. This was my second FUE transplant, and the two experiences couldn’t have been more different. My first experience was with a different doctor who didn’t take time to consider what I wanted to achieve, wasn’t directly involved in the process himself, and did not provide much of a post treatment plan which left me with a result that was disappointing and costly.However, Dr. Sean took time to listen to my concerns and carefully examined me. He then developed a plan which included harvesting some of my beard hair which wasn’t previously considered to ensure I could achieve the results I desired.I could tell early on that Dr. Sean is conscientious, meticulous, considerate, and a man of high integrity. The concern he has for his patients is sincere and he takes great pride in their satisfaction with the results he achieves. During my initial visit, I quickly found multiple examples of work he had done to fix bad transplants from other doctors which gave me the confidence to realize that my painstaking research led me to the right doctor.Dr. Sean was directly involved in my hair restoration process from beginning to end. He carefully explained each step, personally mapped out my hairline with my input, then cut and extracted my donor hair himself with tools he designed and refined. His years of direct involvement using his own tools on many types of hair was especially critical since I’m of mixed ethnicity and my hair is mostly gray now making it very difficult to see and extract without transecting it.His skilled, friendly, and thoughtful technicians; Melanie, Jay, Jeanne, Kayla, Mia, and Jaymee quickly made me feel at home and efficiently and effectively worked together as a cohesive team. They counted, prepared, and categorized my hair follicles based on the number of hairs growing out of each (1’s 2’s or 3’s) so that they could be strategically placed to best achieve the illusion of density where needed mostThroughout the process Dr. Sean and his team made sure I was comfortable. I had my choice of food, music, and TV programs. The atmosphere was more like being around a very welcoming family and very relaxing.Post procedure Dr. Sean personally checked on me. He asked me to send photos directly to him each hour to ensure the recovery process was going well. At one point, he quickly deduced that I needed to clean my transplant area with the spray he provided to prevent clotting. He directed me to spray the area until the clotting was resolved. I have no doubt that his diligence and attention to detail ensured none of my transplanted hairs were lost. Dr. Sean continued to check on me and provide feedback as the days, weeks and months passed through the pictures I sent directly to him. I now had a hairline and density in areas I hadn’t seen in years and was amazed with the results!I continued to look forward to my next visit to restore the hair on my crown and Dr Sean did not disappoint. This this time he added Vadim, a very experienced and knowledgeable anesthesiologist to the team since more beard hair would be needed which he explained could be more painful to extract.Vadim took steps to minimize the chance of infection and pain. I rested comfortably and slept through most of the process. I’m now recovering at home thinking about how lucky I was to have found Dr. Sean and his team.If you’re looking for a doctor who has superior expertise and is directly involved with your hair restoration process while being genuinely concerned for your well-being, then look no further. I can personally attest that Dr. Sean is the real deal and is driven to ensure the success of your hair restoration journey with care and compassion. Comment: Dr Sean is a man of his word. He is humble, a man of passion, and he has so much good energy to give. During my surgery; he was literally feeding me snacks and juice with his hand to make sure I was comfortable and prepared for the remainder of the long surgery (which felt very short). They worked so hard till the work was done and still continued to go above and beyond even though my surgery ended up having some unexpected variables like the curved roots of my hair, and the tough skin on the back of my head. It’s the little things like this that matter, like how he got the door for me into my Uber after the surgery. This man really cares. The staff are all amazing, they were so helpful and supportive. The best vibes! I was searching for the best, and after this whole experience I am certain that I have found it. Thank god for this doctor and his team who supports him, they are all outstanding!! Comment: I had a balding spot on my crown area and thinning in front and on top, so I looked into hair restoration and had consults with both Bosley, a worldwide company, and with an LA-based independent company, Dermatology and Hair Restoration Specialists.I met for a long consult there, first with Steven the client manager and then including Dr. Sean Benham. They spent a lot of time with me and confirmed I was a suitable candidate. I went with Dr. Sean partly because of this, and also because their target for follicle implants was considerably higher than Bosley stated, and I knew I needed a lot of coverage.They gave me detailed Pre-Op instructions so I was in the best condition for the procedure. Dr. Sean rapidly removed follicles from the back and sides of my scalp, (Donor Area), while a team of four, each with a microscope, reviewed every follicle, giving me the most follicles implanted with two or even three hairs within. They took extra effort to make sure I was safe and reasonably comfortable throughout the lengthy process.After the two-day procedure, they gave me new and thorough Post-Op information, to support recovery, healing and hair growth.Every day Dr. Sean would text or call me wanting an update and asking for photos and video of my healing, and I would go to see him regularly for many weeks after.I remain very pleased with Dr. Sean and the team at Dermatology and Hair Restoration Specialists, and have high hopes for more hair coverage and growth over time that will enhance my self-image and satisfaction with the fuller appearance of my hair.

Comment: Dr. Benham-Is a visionary and artist with a touch as soft as a freshly washed warm deluxe combed flannel pillow case and the confidence the to tell a Judge in a murder trial he didn’t know what he was doing (disclaimer- Dr. Sean was not the defendant and the victim was not his client) as a juror.A super focused artist. Dr. Benham, you saved my 30’s before I met you I had gone from Leonardo DiCaprio hair to Bob Hope. Dating was dismal.There were not a lot of dating options on the table so I took the plunge and got my first transplant about 15 years ago. 3 ex wives later lots of alimony and child support has stressed my hairs and they have retreated to the back and are not willing to fight for my dating life. My little soldiers had deserted me. But General Dr. Sean knows where to find them.Had to go back to the General- Dr. Sean to get those soldiers in shape and put them back on the front lines!The procedure-The procedure is long! This time I got there at 6:30 and left around 5. You will need to stay still for many hour so if you have back or shoulder pains let them know so u can stretch and keep things from locking up.Your gonna have to take a bunch of pills in the morning. So make sure you eat.Also, taking a shower before the procedure seems to be a big deal. Read and listen to all the pre op guidance and post op. You’re gonna be in a little room with 7 other people for a long time so don’t stink! They must of had a few really smelly people bc the whole insistence on showers before the procedure was not emphasized on my first procedure.Of the 7 people in the room 6 were women. I assured myself that this reduced the overall percentage of DHT in the room and stimulated my follicular army preparing them even more for relocation.Dr. Sean will give you laughing gas but no laughing allowed!!! You wanna stay still. Your gonna be bored. Also no violent movies. Your option is basically comedy. “Mia” will probably pick the “Kissing Booth”After the procedure your gonna be tired and beat up. It’s a big long procedure and you need to heal so have pedialite and lots of water. Have everything ready.Also spray those sprouts all the time. I spray them like little seedlings or cuttings all day and put the surgeon cap on like a humidity dome. I found this helped a lot the 1st time. Also the surgeon cap helps you not to bump your head and to know that it hasn’t been touched. Try to keep the cap on through the night then u know nothing bad happened. Sleep upright so the follicles don’t fall out and u don’t swell.Changing the bandages and applying the Vaseline is gonna be a little rough. The bandages may stick a little and it’s just not a fun time. Have extra gauze and extra hats. Your also gonna ooze a lot of you have a big transplant. I had around 2500. You’ll want mirrors and maybe someone to help you at least the first day. I went back the day after to have them show me if I was doing it right. The donor holes soak up a lot of Vaseline/acell.Get a super good neck pillow!!! Last time I had a crappy one and was miserable. This time I got a really good one that is molded to cradle the back of you neck right under the head. You will sleep at 45* angle. I used lazy boy. Do this so you don’t swell. Also spray spray Spray. I spray and keep the surgeon hat on every time I wake. Sprinkling the head is my biggest tip. Survivability if the follicles is key and that’s your job. Sleep upright don’t let any follicles fall out.Get the lazer comb and the protein (whey concentrate) with biotin. Have them ready the combs go on sale all the time. Make sure u get the lazer one.So in the end same review as last time. “My biggest regret is not doing it sooner”. I searched for a lot of doctors my first time and wouldn’t even consider another doctor. And don’t even think about going to Turkey. Comment: Amazing work done here! I had an FUE procedure done here and my results are absolutely stunning so far. I am very excited for these next few months as my hair continues to thicken and grow. Comment: Simply the best. If you’re considering a procedure, I can give no higher recommendation than Dr. Sean. I’ve had two other surgeries with two different doctors before Dr. Sean and the difference in every aspect is night and day.If you watch Dr. Sean’s Instagram videos, that’s the guy you get. It doesn’t matter who you are or the cost of the surgery, he fully invests in your success and treats you like family from day one. Thee nicest person, extremely caring and makes sure you’re comfortable during the entire procedure. Honestly, it felt like more of a day spa than a surgery. He is an expert on knowing exactly how to medicate you during the process which was virtually pain free for me. Not only that, he ordered food for me twice during the procedure and went over every single detail of what he was doing and why he was doing it.He took recordings and photos during and after which he air dropped me and even personally texted me hours after the procedure just to check up on me. It’s clear why he is so successful and held in such high regard. He truly cares about your happiness and experience, not to mention the results which speak for itself.Also, his staff was super kind and caring as well. You can tell Dr. Sean built that culture within his practice. They provide you with all the post care treatment and make sure you’re ready to leave when you’re ready and do not rush you out (which I’ve experienced before with other doctors).If you’re going to invest in yourself, do it right and do it with someone that takes pride in each and every procedure and has proven results time after time. Comment: The hair results after getting an FUE transplant was phenomenal! One thing I liked about Dr Sean is that he is someone who is passionate about what he does. If you’re going to invest in something to make yourself feel good, make sure to invest in the right person that can accomplish that feeling. Dr Sean is a trusting person and with his artistic mindset and passion, he’ll do what he can to make you look good and feel good. He was also helpful and responsive through text messages/FaceTime when I had questions or concerns throughout the healing process.Even though it takes about 9-12 months for my hair to heal, after 4-6 months I was already getting the compliments. My hair already looked full at that point. I am now 9 months in, my scalp may still be slightly sensitive but it still looks great.Here are the before and after photos. Comment: Dr. Sean and his team are truly amazing. I’m now at day 9 post op and I can say I’ve had little to no pain or discomfort the entire time. Two Tylenol total on day 5 if all I ever needed. I blame that on me wearing a baseball cap for the first time post surgery.The surgery was much quicker and easier than I could have ever hoped for. I slept for more than half of it. Very minimal pain at all during the procedures and when there was, Dr. Sean stopped and applied more numbing meds.We were going for 2,000 grafts and he was able to extract nearly 2,500. The kicker? He didn’t charge for anything over the original estimate. Which is truly amazing. I can’t recommend Dr. Sean enough. It’s a huge decision to make, and he never pressured me in the least. In fact, he actually turned me down a year ago. Telling me to wait a bit to get more bang for my buck. Words you never hear these days. I’m so happy with my choice. By reading the review below you can see why.Pretty soon after the surgery I knew I wanted to write a good review, however, I wanted to wait to write the review I had last summer with Dr. Sean Benham only to just ensure the transplant fills in as expected without any complications. I got exactly the result I wanted: the crown filled in while sparing the look of the donor region. Nobody can tell Ive had a hair transplant as corny as that sounds.Im a physician (non surgical) myself and yet I found it difficult shopping for the right hair transplant surgeon. After consulting with about 5-6 surgeons I knew Dr. Benham was the one.My situation was pretty severe balding in the crown, some age-appropriate thinning / recession in the front and middle (I didnt want to do anything with this since I dont want to look artificially younger...I want to look my age) and still thick as a teenager in the back and sides. I was all over the map in terms of graft #, type of procedure, and cost. Some surgeons wanted to do as much as 3500 grafts, most were in the low 2000s, and one surgeon wanting to only offer a FUT (linear scar) wanted 1200 grafts - also the cheapest but you end up with that linear scar.Dr. Sean Benham came in right in the middle of the pack in terms of low 2000s graft count and price. I wanted the least amount of grafts to cover the bald spot so that way it can spare the look of the donor region. So low 2000s was my preferred graft count.On to the experience: Basically it was wonderful all the way around. From the initial visit with the coordinator (who also received a hair transplant from Dr. Sean himself), to visiting with Dr. Sean. Dr. Sean is so easy to talk to and is such an empath, the love just pours out of him at every encounter. I honestly dont think he can help himself, lol.He did an amazing job with the parts of the surgery he is involved with. He only does one surgery per day so you know the focus and attention is on your case. He has a well-oiled team of assistants during the surgery to quickly process the hairs under a microscope as they are coming out so as to do it efficiently and not let the hairs be out of the body too long unnecessarily. Pain management during the surgery was amazing. Maybe 2 or 3 times I felt a jolt but Dr. Sean and was frequently asking about pain and so numbing agent came immediately and 99% of the surgery was painless. Snacks and TV are available.Theres good post surgical instructional material by text and videos, and also Dr. Sean is available at any time by cell phone or you can come back to visit in person too. I took about a week off work. In about 7-8 days the scabs came and they kind of came easily and quickly off by rubbing gently.The next hardest part psychologically is from month 1-4 since all the transplanted hair falls out. This is normal and would happen with any transplant surgery, but awesome results between month 4-6! Donor area looks awesome. It does not look thinned out or anything. I usually use hair clipper 2.Other surgeons, I just felt maybe were a bit too difficult to talk with initially (either high egos or may have had too much of a pre-canned kind of spiel and kind of little room for extra questions, etc), or were off in terms of graft count, or higher than average price, or had extremely long wait times (over a year). Maybe they wouldve been OK to, but, Im just glad I went with Dr. Sean because the whole experience even from the get go was just top notch. IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR A DOCTOR TO PERFORM YOUR HAIR TRANSPLANT PROCEDURE, LOOK NO FURTHER THAN DR.BENHAM.I preface this review by saying I’m not the type of person to take the time to give a lengthy review, positive or negative, unless it’s well deserved and warranted.Before meeting Dr.Benham, I had two FUE procedures done with another reputable doctor; the front and the mid scalp. I wasn’t unhappy with the results, but I wasn’t ecstatic about them either. After thorough online research into what doctor to use for the procedure, I went to Dr Benham to address my crown area. From the first consultation, Dr. Benham was amazing. He went over a detailed plan with me, and was straight up with me in terms of expected results. Since I had two FUE procedures done prior to meeting with Dr Benham, he was honest in saying that we may not have an abundant amount of donor hair to fill the crown, but we will make a significant improvement on it nonetheless.The day of the procedure was a breeze. Pain is minimal, and Dr. Benham and his friendly staff give you the utmost dedication and attention in the fact that the doctor only does one procedure a day. Dr Benham was able to extract just under 2000 grafts. During the procedure Dr Benham explained what was going on, how it was going and even shot a short video for me on my phone of some grafts being placed. Couldn’t have been happier with the procedure that day.One difference that really stuck out in my mind, was the attention that Dr. Benham showed in regards to my immediate post-op care. My previous doctor, although reputable, didn’t give me any attention in terms of post-op care. Dr. Benham did the exact opposite. He gave me his personal cell number, along with some tips on eating a hair healthy diet and a vitamin regimen to obtain optimum results.Flash forward 6 months, and to say I’m happy is an understatement. My crown looks like a head full of hair and it’s still got some thickening coming up in the next six months or so. Dr Benham’s technique is the reason I was able to get such amazing results with a limited amount of donor hair. If only I had him do my prior procedures for the front and mid scalp.Since the day of my surgery to this day, Dr Benham has helped me along in my journey. His hair growth topical formula is amazing as well. He instructed me to start using it on my crown area as well as my front area where I had a previous FUE treatment. He said we’d look at the front after a few months of the topical treatment and see if we should try for another FUE procedure to fill some areas. Turns out that’s not necessary. The topical treatment has thickened my front and mid scalp to the point where Dr Benham said it’s not necessary to have another FUE treatment right now. Like I said at the beginning of my review, if you’re looking for a doctor to get a hair transplant done, stop looking. Dr Benham is hands down the best in the business.

Comment: Who would’ve thought I’d be getting a hair transplant and how did I end up with Dr Sean with the hundreds of other options in LA?I started noticing him through his replies on forums just from basic google searches. Does it hurt, realistic goals, cost involved, fue vs fut, etc.Then I read a few articles about him and decided to go in for a consult.I didn’t meet with his partner/hype man Steve(I think that’s his name... sorry if it’s not Steve) I met with Dr Sean. We talked about options, expectations and the procedure.Of course the hair line I wanted wasn’t what he was going to be able to accomplish on the first try... but he’s really honest from the beginning. “If you want thickness and a natural look for your age this is what I’m going to do.” I liked that and I knew he was the guy. (Once you meet him you’ll know too)$500 deposit later and I was scheduled for my day about 2 months later (he performs 1 per day and is pretty booked).I went with the cheaper fut, he thought the fue method was not necessary for me. I will probably do the fue next time as healing is wayyyy easier.Okay day of surgery. It’s an early start and the team is there and ready. They made it as accommodating and comfortable as they could for me. It’s painless except for the local he gives you where the cut is made on the back of your head. To me that was painful. Like it hurt. (But maybe I’m soft lol but once that starts working it’s painless the rest of the day)I drove home that day. I was tired and stressed but I drove 15 miles home.Post:He gives you his cell phone! He wants you to text him and call him. And well I did.I had a few issues in the post procedure. Nothing to do with his procedure or instructions though I will say is the first day or two when you have to keep the area wet with a solution he gives you he wants you to irrigate it with some pressure not just keep it wet. That’s where I went wrong.The cut in the back of the head is a little painful after and the healing process in general is gross and stressful but that’s just the procedure wherever you go. Don’t expect to look kind of presentable for atleast a month or two.Regardless I made it though. Almost a year later and I’m a new man. Is it like Brad Pitt’s hair? Not exactly but it’s damn close!Him and his team are great and I highly suggest you go with them on your hair transplant as it’s an art form too and Dr Sean created the paint brush.

Comment: I went to Dr. Sean about a year and a half ago for my initial FUE procedure. It was a two day procedure and the entire time Dr. Sean and his entire staff were great, he kept me well informed and made sure I was comfortable even though sometimes it slowed the procedure. After the surgery he is very accessible for any questions or concerns. If I was not following up with him, he was reaching out to me, to see how I was doing and asking for pictures on my progress. After seeing the results and how well I was healing, I decided to have a second FUE procedure six months ago. My friends and family who I have told about it, cannot believe the difference it has made and how natural it looks. The ones who I have not told just comment, “wow, you grew out your hair, it looks great!” I just had a six month follow up for the second procedure, with Dr. Sean. He was just as excited and proud of the results as I was. You can genuinely tell he cares about his patients and the results they are getting. He really has the patients best interest in mind, I would highly recommend him if you are on the fence.Update: I have been using the 8% minoxidil formula which is derived by Dr.Behnams team. I have been using it for about four months now and I must say I have seen results - my crown area is much fuller then it used to be over the past 4 years since I have been dealing with hair thinning. My existing hair also have become fuller and stronger. Once again - Dr.Behnam and his team only have your best interest in their minds (which cant be said about many HT doctors). I walked into Dr.Behnam office in Jul 2019 when other doctors I visited recommended me for a HT on my crown, he advised me against it and instead asked me to use the 8% minoxidil formula, not only has this worked well but also saved me 1000s of dollars.Conclusion: I would highly recommend patients to visit Dr.Behnam, there is reason why he has such a long backlog of patient consultations. This other Dr did not only do a bad job, he did not follow up and the scar left was painful and extremely noticeable. I was blessed and thankful when I found Dr. Sean Benham. He took the time and was kind, attentive, personable and most of all knowledgable in his field. HE CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS! He recommended that I remove the scare tissue that was there from my botched surgery before having another surgery. While definitely professional, Dr. Sean is also a fun and energetic guy. A stark comparison to some other doctors that I consulted with, who were a little more cold and reserved. It’s clear that Dr. Sean is very passionate about and good at what he does.Dr. Sean (from my recollection) charges per graft, but doesn’t push patients to get more. He actually refused to transplant anything over 2,000 grafts for me. He said I might need those additional grafts later in life. Another, scammier doctor I met with agreed to transplant 3,000 grafts for me. That struck me as pretty telling, that Dr. Sean puts the wellbeing of his patients above his own financial gain.He and his team are very transparent about the process and whether or not he thinks a patient will be a good fit. He doesn’t sell dreams; he is honest with managing expectations of his patients.Patients are given his personal cell phone number to follow up with him whenever they’d like to. One time I asked him a question, and he recorded and sent me a selfie video message as a response.He told me that I’d see full results from my transplant within 12-15 months, but I saw results that I was happy with as quickly as 4 months in. I can’t wait until my 12 month mark. My hair looks completely natural, and everyone tells me how great I look. Nobody has any idea that I had work done, unless I tell them.If you, the reader, are considering hair transplant surgery, I recommend it, and I recommend Dr. Sean and his team. It’s only been a week, so my review is based on the experience.I live in the Bay Area but chose Dr. Sean after taking into account multiple factors: 1) member of IAHRS 2) Great reviews on Yelp and Google 3) Amazing Youtube video explaining in great details everything you need to know pre-op, op and post-op. 4) consultation was great. He went over everything: cost, what to expect, what not to expect and other details. 5) Amazing personality. Warm, friendly and professional. You can tell he absolutely loves what he’s doing and takes great pride in his workI saw 3 others doctors in NorCal&SoCal + Bosley + virtual consultation from Turkey and finally selected Dr. Sean.He personally called me the night of procedure, which was very kind of himOn the day of procedure, he evaluated whether FUT or FUE is better for me. We agreed to do FUE. He initially told me he will only do my front and probably no crown this time.He had a hookah-style laughing gas to get me ready for the numbing. I have very low pain tolerance but I was okay with it. I laid on my stomach for 2 hours while Dr extracted the grafts. I had 1 bathroom break. I would recommend not drinking coffee the morning of operation. The less bathroom breaks you take and the less you move, the more grafts he can extract (don’t make him lose his momentum). He had 4 nurses who were taking the grafts from doctor and separating them into 1,2 and 3 hair follicles. He told me he was happy to actually extract ~2900 grafts for me!! Which was amazing news. Of course prior to operation I gave him the thumbs up that he can extract as much as possible.We took a lunch break where I ate and watched his staff work on my grafts. After lunch, they started the insertion. Again, the hookah nitrogen gas and numbing. He made the incisions himself on the front and my crown which I was super happy about. Once that part was done, two of his staff started inserting the grafts while he monitored them. The staff took turns so not to get tired. Remember, 2900 grafts means: 2900 drilling + 2900 extraction + 2900 incisions + 2900 planting!! So it’s A LOT of work. The doctor did the ~9000 first three parts himself and the staff did the last part. His staff were amazing!! We watched a movie and were talking about all sorts of things! It was fun.The second part is tedious. You’re sitting for a good 4 hours or more. Your legs get super tired but thanks to the hookah laughing gas, you get through it somehow.Overall, the procedure took almost 11 hours (including morning consultation and prep + lunch and operation and post operation). It’s a long day. I’m glad I’m stayed at the hotel next door to his office so I just walked back to hotel in like 30 seconds.I saw the doctor next day and also on the day on my flight. He cleaned up my area, cleaned my hat for the airport and went over everything again.I’ve been back for 2 days now. I send him pictures every morning for him to see and so far so good.Overall, I was super happy with the experience. Amazing doctor, amazing staff. Let’s hope for amazing results soon (let’s hope for somewhere in between Elvis and George Constanta)Will definitely update this review with results.Thanks again Dr. Sean and your amazing staff.

I’ve had the strip procedure (FUT) done twice with great results and minimal scarring. I recommend the stem cell as it helps with healing where the incision was made. Comment: I was in a car accident in 2009 that left me with a laceration to the scalp, for which I needed medical attention The resulting scar was about 2 inches across and about half an inch wide. For 8 years I either had to comb my hair a certain way to hide the scar or had to wear a hat. I visited Dr. Sean Behnam after reading positive reviews online about people who received hair transplants for balding and wondering if he could do something about my noticeable scar. Dr. Sean told me that he could treat the scar with a FUE hair transplant procedure that would make the scar invisible. I communicated to him my fear that the individual transplanted hairs would die in the scar tissue, but he reassured me that they would successfully graft and grow in the scar tissue because of the placental lining solution he uses in the FUE procedure. I was told to take it easy for about three weeks after surgery, and I did do the follow-up care as Dr. Sean instructed. The hair started growing out of the scar about three months later and the hair strands eventually become thicker, which surprised me. The scar is gone. I then made an appointment with Dr. Sean Behnam, who examined my scalp and decided to first treat my scalp with medication first. He didnt give me any false hope and was not in to take my money. After treating my scalp, we decide to go with Stem Cell PRP and am happy with the result. Its been 4 months and I ready see good results with the growth of my edges/traction alopecia. Comment: I want to start by saying that I have never had any type of surgical procedure done before so I was very apprehensive about hair transplants and I really wanted to make sure to do my research before deciding to go through with my procedure. After meeting with several hair transplant doctors in LA I chose Dr. Sean based on several factors: 1) he in no way felt like a salesman 2) from the beginning took time to talk with me about what I wanted, what were realistic expectations, and if I was even a good candidate 3) was extremely friendly 4) was always available after the procedure to follow up with any questions I might have.During the procedure itself he made sure I was very comfortable, and even got me lunch. Since I was traveling from far away he split the cost of a hotel room with me to make the day after significantly more comfortable.Ive been very happy with the results. Before I was nervous to go outside on a windy day without a cap for fear of exposing the very thin hair on the front of my scalp. Now, I dont think anything of it! The hair looks significantly thicker, feels thicker, and most importantly, makes me feel way better about myself. Comment: Dr. Sean Behnam is the BEST of the BEST!I did a ton of research before selecting Dr. Sean and I actually traveled from Hawaii to his office in California. His office made it so easy, there is a nice hotel next door, and they arranged all of the accommodations. All I had to do was check-in the night before the procedure date, and everything else was prepared and ready for me.- FUE Procedure Day -I arrived early in the morning and they started right away. Dr. Sean only does one procedure per day, so 100% of the staff attention was on me, and I felt so comfortable the entire time. The staff was very professional and they were so nice throughout the entire procedure.There was almost no pain at all! Dr. Sean has a special technique, that he developed himself, to numb his patients. It not only makes it easier, but there are no needles!!! Throughout the entire procedure Dr. Sean explained what was going on and was always available if I had any additional questions.About half-way through the procedure Dr. Seans staff brought me a delicious lunch, and they also provided great snacks throughout the day. They really went above and beyond to make me comfortable!Before I knew it, I was done! It went quicker than I thought and I was ready to go back to my hotel room and relax. They gave me a great post operation kit that had all of the supplies needed to properly clean and protect the procedure.- Post Procedure -I went back to his office the next day for a followup appointment and Dr. Sean looked over his work and answered all of my questions. After that I flew back to Hawaii. Dr. Sean called me often to make sure things were still looking good, and if I had any questions I could text him directly! He always would take the time to answer my questions. It has been 10 Months since my procedure and he still checks in with me to see how I am doing!- Results -It has now been 10 Months since the procedure and I could not be happier! The results are amazing, and no one has ever asked if I have had hair transplants. Dr Sean is very talented in the placement of the follicles, he makes the hairline look completely natural. I am in the water almost everyday and I never have to worry about my hairline. (Before the procedure I would put a hat on the second I would get out of the water so people wouldn’t see my hairline). I have so much more confidence in myself and it was sooooooo worth it! He totally has a special skill! Comment: Hoping this review would be helpful for some folks: Im a performer and my wife thought I should get some professional help with my receding hairline so with her support I started looking into it. We first talk to another hair specialist and we didnt feel like we trusted him, that he gets my look and my needs -- I have never done a cosmetic procedure before and to me if I would it had to be perfect. My wife decided to get a second opinion and scheduled a free meeting with Dr. Sean. Im really glad she did. We arrived for a free consultation and after meeting Dr. Sean I had no more doubts about what. i want to do and felt ready to give this a try. He gave me confidence in the process and the fact that unlike the other office he only has one patient per day just felt like the kind of attention for details I was looking for. Dr. Sean approach felt very artistic to me and the natural look of his works (he showed me loads of photos) was exactly what I was looking for. On top of that, he quoted me a much better price, almost half (!) of what the other doctor wanted for FUT and about 20% less for FUE. Dr. Sean explained everything in detail and there were no surprises the day of and the days after, it really seems like he enjoys his work. Dr. Sean and staff did everything they could to make me comfortable. All the post-op meeting were free and at my convenience. Dr. Sean was personally following up periodically to make sure everything is OK and always answered my concerns in a timely matter. I followed all the instructions as months went by and nothing showed for a while... And then, about 6 month after the procudure, the new hair started showing. Once I had my consultation I knew right away I was in good hands, dr sean talked me through every step of the procedure and what to expect post op. Comment: Back in 2012 my doctor recommended Dr. Behnam when I asked about a hair restoration specialist. That alone says a lot because anyone my doctor recommends is usually excellent in both medical skills and people skills. I still shopped around for a bit but had the hair graft procedure done shortly after with Dr. Behnam. Very quickly I knew I would write them a glowing review, but also knew from doing research beforehand (shopping around) that most of the reviews were from people whod recently gotten the procedure done, so I thought Id wait a bit.So finally after 2 years I decided its about time I write this review, because after all this time Im still just as impressed with my experience there. They are extremely people-friendly, it feels more like visiting family than going to a clinic (his twin brothers dermatologist practice is in the same office so it does have a family practice feel.) Hes the only doctor Ive ever known that actually gives his cell phone number after surgery, so if you have any issues / questions you can contact him immediately. Thats amazing- I dont think any other doctor does that.Even though my doctor recommended Dr. Behnam I still shopped around and quickly found that Dr. Behnams practice had the best rates around- I figured probably in part because they have a nice office on the second floor instead of a 7th floor penthouse like some practices, but its also obvious that Dr. Behnam is not in it for the money- and ultimately thats what makes the biggest difference here. Contrary to so many places, he only does one procedure per day. So you get his full attention and all his effort and energy on doing the best possible job for you instead of rushing through you to get to the next guy on the list. Every other place I looked into did at least 2 patients per day. (one morning, one afternoon)As for the procedure itself, I was very satisfied with the results and the operation itself. They made me feel comfortable the day of, and after just a few months waiting for the grafts to grow, for the first time in years I could comb my hair backwards instead of hiding my bald spot.Included in the price are visits for the laser chair thing, which helps stimulate hair growth. So after all those visits I really came to see that these guys are the real deal. Just good people passionate about what they do, no bullshit, and doing a really good job. If you are not a good candidate for the procedure, he will tell you. That kind of honesty is hard to find in an industry that is known for greedily exploiting peoples insecurities.So yeah, in conclusion I highly recommend Dr. Behnam!
