Comment: I was reading the other reviews and unfortunately glad it’s happened to them as well. Now I’m writing this review to add with others, that they’re scamming everyone who orders drinks. Old fashion comes out to be around $15. I ordered two and it came out $44.29… the math don’t add up. Avoid this place and there’s a better bar just across the street that won’t scam you.

Comment: Bar overcharge scam. Went on 4/27/24 ordered 2 margaritas. Total came to $43.05 when I asked for the receipt the bartender danced around the topic for at least 10 minutes saying the system is broken, saying he couldn’t hear us, & lying saying no card was charged under that name. When I showed him proof of the charge on my phone he Finally gave up and said “we don’t overcharge here our system is broken but I can offer you 2 shots for free to say sorry” bartender is a man 5’4-5’7 stubble beard long hair.

Comment: The actual bar and atmosphere is nice, but any bar owner that does an automatic 18% gratuity no matter what, plus a 2% service fee for a total of 20% added on to every order doesn’t deserve your money. Also the bartender took my card, forgot he had it, then immediately asked for my card again and struggled to understand he already took it physically from me. That’s the kind of stuff that happens when your bartender is loaded.

Not to mention that automatic gratuity is taxed in the state of California so you’re paying even more in taxes than if they just allowed standard gratuity without the added scam. Never returning. ✌️

Comment: Usually get an OK cut from them, but sheesh: take a look at the before and after. I showed him a reference photo of exactly the cut I wanted, and said to go a lil longer - he proceeds to go shorter and give me a bowl cut. After asking for the sides to be taken in a little and his attempt at fixing it, I realized we were speaking a different language and better to leave now then have him hack me up even more. This was $68 folks, Mama mia.

Comment: Beware of their scam!This places sneaks in an 18% so called service charge and then another 2% service charge rewarding themselves for their shady and dishonest business practices and then tricking you into tipping them even more when you sign your bill. Watch out for these scams!Dishonesty and scamming should be illegal in ANY business and its a shame theyre allowed to continue with this shady tactic. Most customers may be tipsy after a few drinks and not even catch this scam and fall for tipping even more. Be careful and better yet, AVOID!There are plenty of honest establishments that dont thrive on pulling a fast one and those are the ones which need to be supported, not this shady, dishonest, crooked place. Its a shame because the bartenders are nice and pleasant.

Comment: This place can be a hit or miss with music and vibes. If you just want chill cocktails come early to miss the throngs of people that come to dance later. The cocktails are great. For ladies theres an All Gender restroom that youll get *ish for using by both male clientele and employees...even though its got a sign on the door noting its All Gender. Just be careful - employees didnt respect the locked door when three of us were using the restroom since the womens restroom was busy and there were no men in the line behind us when we entered. The door was unlocked and abruptly opened by en employee who proceeded to tell us we had to leave even as I was sitting on the toilet in the stall peeing.

Comment: Slimy secret charges on every drink!The bar sneaks 18% gratuity and extra service fees onto every bill, which you will never be told about, but you will be forced to pay. Then they have the gall to ask for additional tip on the receipt. You will not find out about the extra charges until after your card has been swiped, youll only see them if you read the receipt carefully, and you will have no power over how much they choose to charge you in addition to the price of the drink. Its so slimy, and I feel taken advantage of.Its not even about the money, which is about the tip I would pay anyway, its about feeling swindled in a situation where I had no agency.Another frustrating thing: The bar only offer menus through a QR code, and the bartender was weirdly combative when I asked for a printed menu. He steadfastly refused to provide a paper menu or offer any other solutions when I told him my phone was dead. He wouldnt even talk to me about the menu, even though there were only three customers in the entire bar. I dont understand this refusal to provide a simple menu.Between the silent fees you dont have any control over and the bartender that refuses to tell you what they offer, the whole experience is pretty dehumanizing.The ambiance is nice though.

My previous recommendations and neighborhood pride have been diminished. I hope this review prompts the establishment to address its customer service issues. Comment: This place gets busy. Like BUSY busy. Im happy that they check vaccination status so that makes me feel good. Bartenders are always friendly when its not crazy busy. Food is fantastic here because its a slight improvement over standard bar food (grilled cheese is phenomenal). As a DJ I havent heard a good DJ play here.... Ever... but their setup now is REALLY STRANGE. Im unsure who wants to play on this odd wax on wax off setup. I used to want to play here when they had an S9 & turntables but Im good now. Lol... Either way this is a good spot to come to during happy hour. Not many better. Late night is another story though.

Comment: This place is really great! I recommend the truffle grilled cheese. My gf and I don’t drink so we ordered virgin drinks for $5, which is totally reasonable. Some places charge the same for virgin and alcoholic. The atmosphere is relaxed and dim lit which I like.

Comment: This has been LONG overdue for how many times this gal has cut my hair already. So for that Leah I apologize. Everyone loves to have a free drink with a haircut of course. But having just relocated to LA within the last year, Leah made the real struggle of finding a new barber quick and easy. Especially considering how picky I am about my hair and how easily and frequently I MAYBE style my hair once after getting it cut before going back to just throwing a hat on. Definitely recommend her to anyone out there looking for a skilled, and friendly barber that they can trust to get what they’re looking for done right.

Comment: If you are looking for this type of barbershop it is perfect! I really like Leah and I think you will too. She does a good job and is a delightful conversationalist. Not fake and doesnt ask awful questions like where are you going on your holidays. Just a deal treat.

Comment: The only knock I have on this place is that my Moscow Mules had a bit too much lime. By the time I got to the bottom of the mug, those lime chunks were all I could taste. Regardless, I would go back in a heartbeat because the vibe was super chill.

If your bar is set high for a classic LA cocktail establishment, this place will deliver. Tucked behind a functioning barber shop, this speakeasy style lounge is as much about the experience as it is about having an amazing cocktail served by a friendly, capable, and attentive staff.In summary: amazing assortment of drinks, an utmost classy atmopshere, and an awesome manager make this place a must see and instant local favorite.
